We had a large group there Friday night. Called ahead and made reservations for about 25. It took 5-10 minutes to get chips and salsa, they were never refilled. Drinks took 30 minutes to get, including our waters. the Beer took an hour to finally show up. the first couple plates of food took 45 minutes to show up the kids meal, after 50 minutes, was a cup of fries and literally only 3 shrimp for the fried shrimp meal. a server opened the kitchen door into my wifes head in the hallway by the bathrooms so hard she was seeing stars and was crying. She has a large bump there still after 2 days. my food after an hour and forty five minutes never showed up. My wife was far too nice and gave them the option to pack it up to go and we still paid for it.
We paid full price for all of this. Not a single drink or meal was comped. The owner/manager never once apologized. The waitress didn't care at all. Only the sweet girl bussing tables actually seemed to care.
I would never give them my business again. I don't suggest ever going here with any kind of large group. The Mole Enchiladas my wife got were pretty delicious so I'm sure their food is great. But making my 2yo, 7yo, and 9yo kids wait an hour for a small amount of cold fries and THREE shrimp is not good. I'm sure my Chili Relleno would have been good fresh instead of packed up and an hour and 45 minutes late. This is a competitive market in the texmex scene so there are dozens of other...
Read moreExcellent new find for us!
The whole place is welcoming & has a very clean, open setup (and thankfully doesn't smell like Fabuloso, a pet peeve of mine!) Owner made you feel valued once you walked in.
I honestly didn't know what to order only because I didn't want to order the same ol' TexMex style I'm used to. Luckily they had a good variety of dishes from various regions of Mexico.
Chips & salsa were very tasty and fresh.
I had the chamorro de cerdo and it was freaking FANTASTIC. I didn't even need the tortillas that came with it, the meat was so tender and flavorful on its own. I'll definitely order it again. The rice & beans were both fresh and just like my grandma used to make (actually they're better!!)
Others in my party had menudo, caldo de res & a burrito. I'm looking forward to the colder months when I can come back and try all the soups.
They had a good variety of seafood items as well, but I'll have to try those on the next go around.
At the end we also ordered a flan and some churros, both of which were delicious and I would order again, even though I'm not a big desserts girl.
I'm glad we found this hidden gem, because we were definitely getting tired of the same old stuff in the neighborhood. I highly recommend this restaurant, and Mr Cruz made the experience...
Read moreThe customer service is terrible and the portions do not justify the expensive price. I ordered a few weeks ago and I called a few times to cancel the order and no one picked up. Today I ordered via phone and the lady who picked up proceeded to tell me that since I didn't pick it up the last time, I would need to pay over the phone. I don't mind paying over the phone but I explained that I had called previously to cancel and no one had picked up. She said that they "get busy". Well if you’re going to complain about me you should also take accountability for not picking up the phone when a customer calls - don’t take phone orders then! I then paid for today's order. I wouldn't have given such a low rating had the food been really delicious or if the price was on point but given none of that was the case and they were super rude over the phone, this is not a place I would recommend to anyone. Look at the picture to see how much food I got for $26 without even chips and salsa - almost felt like they were trying to purposely not do a good job with my order. Never again! Sad because they are around the corner...
