I recently had the displeasure of dining at an Anjappar chettinad restaurant that left me utterly disgusted and appalled. I cannot express my sheer disappointment with this establishment enough. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was underwhelming, but little did I know that it was just the tip of the iceberg.
To begin with, the service was abysmal. The staff seemed disinterested and unresponsive, lacking any semblance of professionalism. It took an eternity for someone to even acknowledge my presence. When I finally managed to place my order, I foolishly hoped that the food might redeem this pitiful experience.
Unfortunately, my optimism was soon crushed. Upon receiving my meal, I immediately noticed a horrifying sight—a fly sitting comfortably in the center of my curry. I was absolutely disgusted! It was as if the restaurant had invited the insect to join me for dinner. The presence of a fly in my food was a clear indication of the complete lack of hygiene and proper food handling practices in this place.
Seeking resolution, I requested a replacement dish, thinking it could only get better from there. Oh, how wrong I was! The replacement meal was nothing short of an insult to my taste buds. The flavors were bland and uninspiring, rendering the entire experience utterly tasteless. It was as if they had taken the most generic, pre-packaged ingredients and thrown them together without any consideration for proper cooking techniques or seasoning.
Furthermore, the portion sizes were ridiculously small, especially considering the exorbitant prices they charged. It was clear that they were more interested in squeezing every penny out of their customers than providing a satisfactory dining experience.
Overall, I would strongly advise anyone with even a hint of taste buds or an ounce of respect for themselves to avoid this wretched excuse for an Indian restaurant. The lackluster service, the appalling hygiene standards, and the tasteless food were an absolute disgrace. Save yourself the disappointment and find an alternative where you can actually enjoy a decent Indian meal without the...
Read moreDear Brother, Consider this review as feedback. One thing noticed in all Indian Non-Veg restaurants, is the unwelcome smell while you are entering the restaurants. Not just here, almost everywhere, the smell is a put off. I dined in around 2 PM, not sure if the dinning hall is flooded with previous servings, you kind of feel, you are entering when almost everything finished, the remains are floating in air.
Please see if the air quality can be improved and kept the same from when you open and close restaurant. Implement automatic air quality system that brings in fresh air.
Enough on air quality topic, now switch to main reason for the review. I ordered for Non Veg Thalli, with Mutton Gravy option. It took just less than 5-7 minutes, which is very good. But the Poori, Papad that served along with I can see, it can was not straight from cooking pan, in fact I had ask for fresh Papad. No good dishes in the Thalli , apart from Mutton Gravy and a small portion of mutton biriyani, I cannot remember a single item which gave a nice experience, I was in mood to just get it done. The most discouraging signs for any thalli eater is rice portion, the bowl looks appropriate enough, but the inside of the bowl is curved upwards to take the volume out, its basically for kids(5 years old) portion. This I cannot tolerate as rice eater, I paid premium amount for the thalli and the food content is 1 poori, small portion of biryani, small portion of rice. What you all do with those gravy/curries if the real stuff is not enough.
Finally came to dessert - Payasam that comes with thalli, only to taste the burnt milk, it must have been reheated multiple times.
Dear Sir, if thalli is not a strategic meal that you don't want to serve, then remove from the menu. Please treat every meal as opportunity to serve a longing stomach/soul. It's just simple, maintain a level of standards and stick to it very dearly, and every meal is there for to be served...

Came at 11 pm. Google say they’re open. Walked in and was told they are closed. Then she turned the Open light off in front of us. —————————————————— Unfortunately, I had such a bad experience today that I need to change my rating.
On 10/12, 5 pm, we had a very experience with a server. Every time we asked a question about the menu “I don’t know because it’s my first day” was the response. I don’t know why she could not just tell us she will ask her manager. It was very uncomfortable. We also never got glasses for water and had to get up and ask. While I was still eating, she came up and asked if we were going to order anything else and then proceeded to charge me on her tablet. I stopped eating, and awkwardly got my wallet to pay. She held the tablet up and I couldn’t see the total. I had to ask her to show me. She even tried signing for me. We asked for a receipt because we had a feeling we were mischarged. We were correct. She told us she didn’t know how to credit us “because it’s her first day”. At this point, we were upset and asked her to please ask her manager to help her. With this low effort, I regret my 15% tip. Our patience was met with low quality, rude service. We don’t want to come back, but I will say the food is good. Please be mindful of your servers! It’s hurting your business! Thanks! —————————————————————————
We visited at 10 PM on 4/19. The staff treated us so well. The young man bringing the food out brought us a nice plate of onions, cilantro, and lime when we asked. The gentleman taking our orders was very patient as we took our time. The food was excellent. I was surprised that we enjoyed everything but the dosa. The sambar and chutneys did not have any flavor, while the bone broth and chicken curry were packed with flavor! For a Wednesday night, during the late night menu hours, we didn’t expect much but we were pleasantly surprised. We...
