I have heard it said that: you eat first with your eyes. " I would argue that is even more the case with your nose. 👃
We had not been to this location before and were trying to make a decision. Upon entry, I immediately loved the vibe, decoration, music, and especially the smells.
This location has some rustic charm and special "je ne said quios" that made me feel it had potential. The fact that they were packed added to my perception of impending excellence.
Unfortunately, the quality of food did not quite live up to the vibe, also inexplicably falling short of the very good smells that filled the air. 🤷♂️
The service was prompt despite the growing crowd. Unfortunately, my wife reported that her enchiladas contained somewhat dry and not especially flavorful chicken. I'm a big fan of beans and look forward to sampling them at new places. Disappointingly, they were a bit of an afterthought also being on the bland end of the spectrum, like my sad puffy taco.
The salsa was nice. It had a good kick. This is something I appreciated because it helped cut the layer of grease the chips left in my mouth.
Perhaps I just have buyers remorse because the fajitas filled the air with the most delicious smells, and my dinner was decidedly less gratifying.
My advice, go during happy hour for the fun music and Friday night vibes that had loads of alcohol flowing.
If, however, your pallet is on the more discerning side of the house, there must be more sincere...
Read moreWent there Friday night 4/25/25 and sat on outdoor patio-weather was nice so wanted to sit outside. Server-Andrew (that name was on receipt) was angry when he walked up. I ordered a soda and skinny margarita with salt. And he started to walk away ignoring my friend. I said "Hey what about my friend". He said I thought you ordered for the both of you. What?? So she ordered her drink and she was put off by his attitude and did not order a margarita. I ordered chips and queso and he was angry and rude about it, rolled his eyes since I didn't say the size. So I said medium queso. He brings soda and skinny rita - no salt on the rim. I said I wanted salt on the rim. He said "This margarita does not come with salt." Now what kind of moron response is that. I stated "Please bring me a glass with salt on the rim" and I'll pour the rita in. He brings it and looks at me and says: Can you pour it? Really - I did in front of him with no hesitation and no missed drops. This guy was an angry rude person. I ask for the check an am mad that I gave any tip. The hostess was super sweet. We were there maybe 20minutes. Disgusting treatment from that server. I still cannot with "This margarita does not come with salt." Yes it does! I hope management sees this and reviews any video to see this rude server....
Read moreI was passing through the area and decided to stop here. Looked good and happen to be my favorite type of food. However, I was let down. Let me give you a Bigg Robb Breakdown.
Food 3/5: The rating that most people probably put first. Now when I looked on maps, the food looked decent. However, when I got my food, it looked a bit rough. I decided to get the chicken fajita with the rice and bean option. The rice was awful. One of the worst I've tasted at a Tex-Mex restuarant. The refried beans were fine, typical canned. The vegetables and tortillas were good, no issues there. The main meet, grilled chicken, looked rough and tasted like cardboard. It was really dry and had no flavor. Would not recommend.
Atmosphere/decor 5/5: When I first walked in, I was stunned by how great the place looks. They did a nice job in decorating and even did some holiday celebration for Halloween. The place was really clean and made you feel cozy.
Service 5/5: The service was spectacular. Extremely friendly and made sure to check on you regularly. Food did come out fast and I didnt have to wait very long for anything at all.
Sadly, as much as I liked the place and the people, the food was just really bad. I would love to try this place again and see how it is later on. For now, I have to give it an overall...
