Talkin' Tacos Is delicious! I happened to be bowling in the area where I found Talkin' Tacos on Google. When I first came here, it was nighttime during Ramadan, and it was packed. I was so happy I ordered ahead, the wait was LONG. I came here one more time recently and it wasn't half as bad as far as the wait for my food.
I love the presentation of the tacos here, the size, and, of course, the flavor.
I've eaten these tacos:
Carne Asada: Corn Tortilla, Marinated Steak Topped with Salsa Verde and Cilantro. This taco was so good the meat was grilled perfectly and all the flavors came together nicely and tastily. Must try here!
Caribbean Carne Tacos: Corn Tortilla, Marinated Steak Topped with Sliced Plantains, Avocado Salsa, Cotija Cheese, and Cilantro. This is a unique taco I loved the way the plantains added a sweet flavor. Everything came together greatly.
Steak Al Pastor Taco: Corn Tortilla, Grilled Steak, Pineapple, Pickled Onion, Avocado Salsa, Cotija Cheese and Cilantro. This was an an interesting twist on NOT using pork in an Al Pastor Taco, but I enjoyed the meat is well seasoned, and they put plenty of pineapple as well. If you ever wanted a pastor with beef try this taco.
Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos: Corn Tortilla, Lettuce, Fried Shrimp, Spicy Mayo, Pickled Onions and Cilantro. This was delicious and I liked that they use lettuce instead of cabbage as I prefer that. They put enough shrimp in this taco so it's nice to feel like you're getting your money's worth.
Street Corn Nachos: Nachos topped with Cheese Sauce, Street corn, Pico de Gallo, Guacamole, Spicy Mayo, Cotija cheese, Crema, Takis, and Cilantro. These were scrumptious. You can add chicken, beans, or steak. I added steak on mine. The corn was cooked perfectly too. I really enjoy these.
I've only ordered carry-out, but the service has been good, and the food is very much worth the wait. If you love tacos you have to try Talkin' Tacos. It's Halal...
Read moreI came by this place because of a recommendation for the birria tacos. I needed a to go order so I got the birria burrito, and we also ordered the cali burrito and a mango lemonade. the cost was $33.
when we entered there was a touch screen order tablet, but an employee approached us and said “do you want me to show you our menu?” even though it was in front of us. I appreciated that they may have just wanted us to have a clear expectation of what was offered, but their time would have been much better spent working in the kitchen, as we would soon find out. the employee did inform us that if we ordered the ramen, it would be 20 minutes of waiting. I assumed then that anything else would be less of a wait.
I paid for my order at 12:17. I did not receive a to go order of two burritos until 12:43. when we entered the restaurant there were only one or two other people there. by the time we left there were several people all waiting for food. there were three employees working, but it looked like only one was cooking, and the other two were waiting around, putting various boxes of food in various bags all lined up, likely for several orders at once. these bags were lined up for 15+ minutes, so all the food would have just been sitting in there getting cold, not getting delivered to the person who ordered it.
by the time I got my order, my patience was gone. I spent over $30 on burritos, waited a half hour with no communication from the staff as to why it was taking so long. one of the burritos came with exactly 6 tortilla chips, which just seems insulting for some reason.
eating the actual burrito, it was just fine. maybe a little overcooked. not delicious. not amazing. fine.
I will not be back. if you can’t staff or train your employees to handle a monday lunch shift, you should not be in...
Read moreI usually don’t leave negative reviews, but my experience was disappointing due to one particular employee, Tiara. I placed an online order with an ETA of 8:18 PM. I understand that it was a busy time due to Ramadan, so I didn’t mind waiting when I arrived and my order wasn’t ready. However, when I politely asked how much longer it would take, Tiara didn’t check with the kitchen—she just said, “I don’t know.”
As I waited, I overheard her making comments about not caring because she was about to get off work, along with other remarks that came off as dismissive and unprofessional. When I asked for hot sauce, she gave me some, but I was hoping for their specialty house habanero and hot sauce. I asked a gentleman working there, and he kindly provided small containers so I could help myself. While I was filling them up, Tiara came over and said, “I already gave you sauce.” That felt unnecessary—if I want more sauce, that’s my choice, and I wasn’t bothering anyone.
Later, I asked for a lid, and she said okay but never brought it, instead going to clean a table. Again, I had to ask the gentleman, who was much more helpful.
The food and atmosphere were okay, nothing to complain about. The gentleman assisting me was great, but the experience with Tiara left a bad impression. Better customer service would have made a...
