Read moreI recently visited Olive Burger at 5620 State Highway 121 in Plano, Texas, and had a very concerning experience.
We placed an order through the drive-thru, which included a cheeseburger, a jalapeño cheeseburger, a drink, and a chocolate shake. Partway through drinking my shake, I choked on a large piece of brown plastic that had come through the straw.
Thankfully, we were still in the parking lot, as we had to leave soon for Jummah prayer. I immediately went back to the drive-thru to report the incident. The young employee who handed me the shake was shocked and admitted, “Oh my God! That’s the plastic from the chocolate bottle cap.”
I then requested to speak to the manager, hoping for some accountability and a resolution. Unfortunately, the manager I encountered was incredibly unprofessional. He dismissed my concerns, accused me of lying, and even bragged about owning five restaurants and having 15 years of industry experience. Despite his claims, he demonstrated absolutely no professionalism or customer service skills.
Instead of addressing the issue responsibly, he refused to take accountability—even though his own employee had already acknowledged the source of the plastic. His behavior, including chewing on a toothpick while speaking to me, was insulting and disrespectful.
This was not just about the shake—it was about safety and accountability. Swallowing a piece of plastic due to negligence is unacceptable, and the manager’s dismissive attitude made the situation even worse.
To the manager: If you ever face a similar situation, I hope you remember this incident. Treating customers with care and respect is a basic expectation, especially when your negligence puts someone’s health at risk.
I would caution others to think twice before visiting...
Read moreI've been to the Richardson Location and then this one in Plano, and the product uniformity is excellent. The appetizers tasted the same, as well the burger and fries.
We mostly eat Vegetarian/Vegan so we go for the beyond burger. I don't know what they put on the burger for seasoning but it brings the flavor out of the patties. I'm sure it's the same for the beef patties. They are all halal, which just means no pork in any menu item. If you add bacon it's going to be beef bacon.
The burgers themselves are loaded with standard fair, but it's pretty on point and the amount is generous. Red onion as well, not white or sweet which brings a nice flavor profile to each bite contrasting from the pickle slices. Mustard goes a long way, but they make them dry, but you can request a condiment for your to go order or in the burger itself.
Fries... You won't find a better "fast food" variety of fries out here. They are crispy and full of potato and seasoned to perfection. They aren't made in house, but from a distributor it looks like. They come in clear bags, but they are really good and complement the Burger's flavor profile.
The pricing is reasonable for a small local chain. They have 3 restaurants, so some of these reviews on here wanting a lower price is asinine. Lol. Price has gone up $0.30 for the veggie burger, but that's okay, I'll gladly pay the extra cents for a superb grilled burger.
I highly recommend you stop by. The drive through at this location has a limited menu, but if it's dead you can order appetizers as well, they have 3 togo parking spaces. We have to wait extra time anyway for our veggie burgers.
My only wish to the family that owns these places....
