We went to the Texas Café for breakfast on a Sunday. There were only two other parties there, both groups of 2 to 3 people. There were at least four wait staff people working. We placed our order and ordered drinks. The drinks didn’t come out at all, even after we asked again. When the food arrived, it was primarily things we didn’t order and only one correctly ordered item. When we told the waitress that this wasn’t what we ordered she said “really?” and looked as if she didn’t believe us. The items brought made no sense together and would never be something I’d order together (e.g., pancakes with a side of crepes?). She eventually managed to bring us the correct food after an additional 30 minutes of waiting. There was no apology and she seemed rather frustrated. We tried to remain patient, kind, and understanding - mistakes happen! We then saw her standing and pointing at our table, talking to other waitresses about what had happened and laughing. We also saw her as well as other wait staff, sitting at various tables and eating throughout our experience. They seemed generally more concerned with socializing than taking care of customers. For the food itself, we ordered the cinnamon pancakes that were described to be a cinnamon swirl. Instead, it was just regular pancakes with cinnamon and powdered sugar dusted on top. We also ordered the berry delight crêpes. The berries and sauce were OK. The crêpes had a rubbery consistency and were cold when they came out. We also ordered sausage and bacon, both of which were severely overcooked and very dry. When mentioned to the waitress, nothing was done other than her shrugging. We then had to wait an additional 30 minutes to get our check after repeatedly trying to signal to her to get it. We finally just paid and left, but overall the food was not good, the atmosphere did not feel welcoming or friendly, and the service we received was very poor. The decor is nice though so that’s the one thing they have going for them. We will not return and do not recommend this place to others. Very disappointed given they’re close by and could have become a regular...
Read moreCame in today to celebrate Father’s Day with my family because I wanted to try their biscuits and gravy and they had Mickie Mouse pancakes for the kids. The place was full when we arrived around 10:30am. We were seated quickly and received our waters, but we did not get to order until about 11:00am. After trying to flag some people down to order, we were told they only had 2 waitresses working. That is very unacceptable especially with it being Father’s Day. After we finally got to order, it took another 30-40 minutes before our order came out. We also had to ask for utensils after the food was served and they walked away.
We ordered biscuits and gravy, 2 Mickey Mouse pancakes with bacon, and crab cakes Benedict. The biscuits and gravy were a huge disappointment. The biscuits were sticky inside like they weren’t fully baked and there was hardly any sausage in the gravy. The Mickey Mouse pancakes were either overcooked or the utensils we were given were bad as I had a hard time cutting the pancakes with the knife. The crab cakes Benedict had fully cooked eggs instead of poached and the crab cakes tasted mostly like breading.
The waitress I had was nice and apologized for how slow it was and comped the Benedict after we told them about the eggs. As a whole this was not a good experience and I will most likely not give this place another try. I’ve been wanting to try this place out but the food was underwhelming and it took too long from the time we sat down to the time we got our food. Kids were hungry and what should have been a fun Father’s Day experience turned into disappointment all around. I hope they can take this feedback...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Texas Cafe not once, but twice over the weekend, and I can confidently say that this place has won us over completely!
On Saturday, I visited with friends, and we were all eager to try out their offerings. We opted for the steak and eggs, while my friends enjoyed the traditional and chicken fried steak. Each dish was cooked to perfection, and served with a generous portion. The highlight, however, was the steak skillet - it was absolutely off the chain!
Not content with just one visit, I returned on Sunday with my family, eager to share this gem with them. They were equally impressed by the delicious food and the warm, inviting atmosphere. The owner is down to earth and takes the time to greet everyone, which adds a personal touch to the experience.
The service was impeccable, making us feel right at home. Knowing that everything is halal makes it even better, as we can enjoy the meal without any concerns.
We are officially hooked on Texas Cafe! If you're looking for amazing food and a welcoming environment, this is the place to be....
