I want to make it very clear, we will not be coming back to this place. In my experience you should skip it too.
This was our FIRST and only experience here. We will not be coming back.
We ordered an espresso, a regular black coffee, an Italian avocado toast (extra procutto after the server told us there were about 2-3 pieces) and a daily grind.
We received the espresso in 5 minutes from a new server. At that time we also asked for water. They never came.
We had to ask two different servers where the regular coffee was. When it finally showed up it was not hot, there was no cream or spoons on the table. So we had to waive down ANOTHER server.
Still no waters.
When our food showed up the presentation was very nice.
The million dollar bacon was tasty, not as sweet as first watch but cooked well. The sausage had a bit of a spice to them, the biscuit was fluffy and buttery. The berry and orange jam was fresh and tasted like it was just pureed.
The Italian avocado toast was not as appealing. First, I ordered extra procutto because the photo only shows 2 slices. (This cost me an extra $6 for 2 extra slices)
The burrata was just a dollop of mozerella. There was no buttery texture inside, like you would normally have with fresh burrata.
When we finished our coffee we were never asked if we wanted more. Still no waters. At this point we were done.
I had to waive down our server AGAIN to get my extra procutto. AND when I asked if the bread was supposed to be toasted he said yes. When I showed him the cold bread under my mozzarella he told me he would make another.
60 seconds later another server came out with another Italian avocado toast, HALF The size of the original one, and the toast Still wasn't toasted, it wasn't even warm.
Still no waters.
No one asked us if our meal was good, if we were satisfied, if everything was ok. Our server blatantly ignored us. When we did get his attention we asked for the check to get the heck out of there.
The bill has a 20% tip already added into the price, we appreciated this and think more restaurants should do this. Everyone deserves to be paid for their service. However, we were asked AGAIN at payment for an additional tip on top of that.
Our two entrees + 2 coffees with tip totaled $60!
I understand the economy is the way it is but if I'm paying a premium price for a meal I expect premium service. Our experience did not constitute the over charge for the extra procutto nor the unacceptable service...
Read moreUpdate: In the end of the day every single dish we had lacked FLAVOR and TASTE. The food wasn’t of spoiled quality, it just tasted like absolutely nothing. I wasn’t going to send every dish back in order to receive something with less flavor than what I just received. Our waitress only served us our food and took our order she never refilled water, brought napkins or appetizer plates and also tried getting me to send my friend money instead of correcting her mistake when she forgot to split our bill as requested. This place believing their waiters are “attentive” doing the bare minimum is almost worse than everything on the menu being bland and tasteless. I’ve been so excited to come here because the menu looked amazing with so many interesting dishes. We got one appetizer and three entrees and every single one had absolutely zero seasoning or flavor. The bravas sauce had zero spice, it wasn’t spicy nor did it taste like anything except for tomato. The pork in the southern Benedict did not taste like anything at all, just shredded meat with no seasoning and the biscuit was hard as a rock it took me multiple tries to cut through. The omelette Basquaise had zero flavor even with turkey bacon added, tasted like absolutely nothing and the tomato sauce it came with also had zero flavor, couldn’t taste a hint of even a little salt or pepper. Also got a side of cheese grits that did not taste like anything at all. The dishes sound so amazing but the execution of them was just not good. This restaurant has so much potential but neither of us have honestly tasted such bland and unseasoned food in any dining experience we’ve ever had. Also if tip is going to be automatically added, the service should at least be good. Our waitress was friendly but didn’t bring us appetizer plates, never refilled the water, and never brought us napkins. She also did not split the bill as we requested and instead of just correcting her mistake, tried to get me to send money to my friend. One of the other waiters helped us out more than our actual waiter who got $18 for doing the less than the bare minimum. The automatically added tip is zero issue if the service...
Read moreChicken and waffles I’d give a one out of five. It was a thin piece of my guess was breast meat overcooked and hard. I think they refried it because it was kind of gray. Waffle was normal. Very disappointing for the price, you can get really fresh juicy three piece chicken on top of waffles with the best breading you’ve ever have in your life for 15 elsewhere. Sunrise skillet was OK, the meat was a little under seasoned and overall it just tasted like a dinner with potatoes. Again, all of this food was OK, but for this price, it’s disappointing. Cinnamon roll was good for the price. I would take the most redeeming quality of this place was the staff, all of them were impeccably mannered and incredibly kind. Hostess were super nice and the server was incredibly nice and attentive. After closer inspection, we just realize that there’s no guacamole even though that’s how it comes? I guess they forgot.
Edit: I think there might be a bit of confusion. The issue is not that we’re poor and can’t afford your food, it’s that your food isn’t worth the price. So if we sit down and order middle grade chicken waffles and get low-grade stuff then naturally we will be disappointed. We don’t look at price when we order food, unless it’s bad then we look and think about if it was a waste of our money. I didn’t return the food, I didn’t ask for a refund and I didn’t tell the server. I’m leaving constructive criticism here so you can improve your business. Hope things will change, but considering your location, I think you’ll continue to be hit. Recommending me to choose budget friendly options because you failed is really interesting. I don’t know how your post evolved into passive aggressiveness. I will pray for you and I hope you guys thrive and continue to improve and grow.
P.S. We drove an hour and 30 minutes from Palm Beach Shores to eat at your restaurant. My girlfriend has wanted to eat here for about a year and it was on her list as a special spot to treat us for a special occasion. She was thrilled to see your butterfly garden and flowers, and thinks your name is very cute. I hope in the future it’s that beauty is better reflected within...
