Overall this is a decent local pizza shop with good coupons floating around, like the starving student card that’s gets you a free pazooki (way good by they way). The pros to this place is that they are well cooked, so if you like crunch to your crust you’re in for a treat. The spicy options here are also really great, and I enjoy the firebird sauce. Outside of that though, it’s a pretty expensive for an adequate pizza. Nothing really stands out, though the BBQ pizza does have great flavor! Maybe that’s because their marinara sauce has a pasty weird flavor going on. The cheese bread is okay as well, but I thing really wows and it is only good hot. The customer service is a gamble. They smile a lot, but they are pretty slow and don’t really like to do more than help you swipe your credit card. One time they were happy to have us there while we were ordering, and then when we wanted to order more or get sauce that’s when the eyes rolled and the service disappeared. Then there’s the pasta... it’s microwaved. The pasta I witnessed with my whole family (several bowls were ordered) was just not good. The chicken and noodles were dry and very apparent that it was microwaved. The flavor was also straight up bland, and nobody wanted to finish their pasta. This place is great with coupons, but in the runnings with other local pizza joints it is a...
Read moreFirebird Pizza (formerly One Man Band) will only satisfy those who lack the sense of what makes pizza so special. There is a reason why teenagers, and turtles alike, worship pizza. Pizza is the keystone of life. However, making a crispy, scrumptious slice is easier said than done, especially for a batch of adolescent employees. Despite sticky floors, grubby tables, and overwhelming disarray, which can be overlooked for the sake of pizza, Firebird should be judged fairly based on their pizza. For those who truly appreciate good, simple pizza, imagine paying $20.00 for a less soggy, frozen DiGiorno. That is Firebird. The cheese is cheap, the sauce is forgettable, and by the time you reach the crust (even for those who eat their slices backwards) you'll wish you hadn't. You know a pizza place is bad when you can get the same quality ingredients from Little Squeezers at 75% less cost. Unfortunately, Firebird is just another sad Utah pizza joint awaiting the same fate as its...
Read moreFirebird Pizza is causing a bit of a problem at my house. We ate here last Wednesday and were really impressed by the food. Their pizza is phenomenal and very reasonably priced. Two days later my wife wanted to go back, and I enthusiastically joined her. Again, the food was amazing, and we were both full and happy by the time we left. Now it's Monday night and my wife is trying to talk me out of making dinner, so we can go back to Firebird... I think I'm married to a 12 year old. Seriously, the pizza is wonderful. Their crust is crunchy without being hard or chewy. Their sauce has an excellent blend of spices. And as my wife put it "they have a perfect cheese to sauce ratio". As amazing as this place is you would think it would be completely packed 24/7, but there has always been plenty of seating and a very short line when I've gone. Give them a try, and I'm sure you'll be coming...
