La Feria Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Pleasant Hill

My husband and I decided to try La Feria last Saturday night. To avoud the dinner rush, we went around 8pm. There were only about 6 tables occupied so we knew we had made the right choice. WRONG! When we entered there were 4 servers standing up front. One was cashing out dinner guests, the others were standing in a cluster, speaking Spanish to one another. A male server asked us if there were only two of us, I said yes, he spoke with another man in Spanish, then a women server took two menus and started walking tword a table, did not look at us, or speak to us. I had no idea if she was seating us, or someone else! Once we got seated our server took our drink and dinner order, brought us our drinks and we never saw him again until it was time to cash out and leave! My husband had needed another beverage and had to interrupt 4 or 5 servers standing at the front to get him a beer and me a water! Once our food came out, a female server brought my husbands fajitas out first then about 5 minutes later, my three softshell tacos!! He ordered, chicken, steak and shrimp fajitas!! That seems that it would take much longer to cook than three softshell tacos. Needless to say, we enjoyed our food, but will not be going back because the service was AWFUL! My husband used to be a server at Chi-Chis mexican resturant and was horrified by our experience. Our waiter had one table (ours) but we only saw him twice during the entire time...

When they 1st opened they were great. But went in last night and a few weeks ago as well figured it was just an off night we are usually helped by the shorter guy with kind of spiked hair he’s always been a good waiter but we were sat down with our chips and salsa and the chips were old tasting and very hard. We asked for cheese dip and never got it. When we did get it came out cold with chunks still exposed from it not being melted. We could definitely tell we wasn’t helped by a normal waitress she had to of been a host. Wife and I were never more ready to get out of there and regretted we didn’t go to our usual Guadalajara or even fiesta up the road nothing was good about our meals and she got the chori pollo I got the seafood enchiladas and how horrible it was we made our final decision to never come back. It wasn’t even busy the people that came in after us were catered to before us I had to stop the gentleman that is usually our waiter to get our cheese dip it’s sad bc their food used to be pretty decent but your better of going...

To start, experience was going well. No long wait with getting our drinks, ordering, and receiving the food. Food was alright although I was supposed to get two chicken chimichangas and two beef according to the menu and instead got all beef

Issue is after we received our food we were basically ghosted. No one asked how our food was or refilled the drinks when they were gone. Finally, after we finished our plates we waited for the check so we can leave. It took over 25 minutes just sitting around on our phones before someone finally stopped by to take the plates and we asked for the check so we could leave. I could maybe see if they were short staffed or busy but all the other tables around were being treated with no issues and it wasn't overly packed

It was our first time eating here but this experience has left us not wanting to stop by again...
