Starbucks — Restaurant in Pleasant Hill

I recently stopped by this Starbucks while visiting from the Philippines, and I have to say—the experience was delightful! There’s just something about the drinks and food here that seem to taste better in the U.S.

I ordered my go-to, the Strawberry Acai Lemonade, and it had a refreshing kick that felt even bolder than what I’m used to back home. Maybe it’s the local water, the sugar, or just the American magic, but I couldn’t get enough of it! Even the cup sizes seem a bit more generous—no complaints there!

I also had a Tomato Mozzarella Sandwich, and once again, it was a step up from what I’m accustomed to in the Philippines. The bread was perfectly toasted, the mozzarella melted just right, and the tomato was extra fresh and flavorful. It’s the little details that made the difference.

I frequently go to this Starbucks (as well as the one in Emeryville by the Home Depot and Taco Bell). The people inside both all know and greet me by name and I get good service. This is why I gave it 5 stars. All Starbucks do allow dogs to be brought inside, but I do not know what the controls are. This morning at the Sunne location there was a small white dog/puppy who was not on leash and running around on the floor, the owners did not really have control over the dog, they are frequently in this Starbucks. This dog started barking at me and came towards me. I ignored the dog, but it continued to bark. I know that this is not normal for dogs in Starbucks, but I do not go to Starbucks for dogs to behave this way. I go to enjoy my beverage and food in peace. My go-to Starbucks with some of the friendliest employees! Added bonus is that they all seem to love dogs here. Whenever my dog and I come in the lovely Baristas know us immediately! As busy as this place is I cannot believe they remember us and by name. Everyone here is so friendly, energetic and you cannot help but to have your spirits lifted.

Sadly I have seen them have to deal with some tyrants (customers) before but they handled it with so much grace and tact. I walk to this location as it is along the route I walk my dog daily.
