Brent's Firehouse Coffee Bettendorf, IA — Restaurant in Pleasant Valley Township

I’m from NY originally and struggle to find passable coffee in the QC but this place delivers. Some of my friends say they have the best chai tea in the QC too. The staff is usually extremely friendly and fast. Whomever was working today 9/19 around 3:30 needs to get punted, however. The kid acknowledged me at the window and then I sat there for 13 minutes with no service. I know it was 13 minutes because I made a phone call while I was waiting. When my call finished, I pulled around and went inside to find him hiding in the back. He finally came out and gave me my black coffee…giving me the incorrect price three times before we completed the transaction. There was one couple inside and I was the only car in the drive thru and it took me 16 minutes to get a cup of black coffee. Seriously, the kid’s going to drive away your regulars if you don’t...

The coffee was okay. Definitely served too hot and not sure if they used skim milk but it tasted really watered down. I got one of the spring specials the staff suggested. I think I might try just regular coffee or a shot of espresso/cortado next time.

The staff was super nice and welcoming. And, I like that they donate money to fund rescue equipment. Kind of put-off by the inconsistency of the hours, though. I've tried to come here several times in the evening before my night shift, an hour+ before they're supposed to close, and they were closed...so I ended up going to Iconic or Vibrant further down the road. Stopped in for a coffee but didn't realize all that had was a one hundred dollar bill and three dollars in change. It was cold out and I just left the pain clinic waiting on bus well, after pouring my coffee as I ordered it with espresso and caramel it was $3.80 so instead of giving me a punch card and maybe say give me what you have and next stop handle it.
