Work get together got us all to Beer Baron. Parking wasn’t too bad find as the parking lot right behind can serve the purpose ( enforced 3 Hour parking from 9AM to 6PM). Checked in and got seated at the table by the window. We were a group of 3 when we got in and folks kept dropping in and we ended up being 7 in the group. This review would not be about the alcohol ( as I don’t consume it) rather is about the food and the ambience. The place was a bit slow when we got in though in no time it picked up pace. To begin with folks ordered alcohol and I happened to get a ginger ale. We started on the food side with an order of the Chipotle BBQ wings. Followed that up with an order of Nachos and another order of the wings though these would be half and half of chipotle bbq and buffalo Siracha sauce. I didn’t try the wings though I was told they were a 10 on 10 as far as taste and quality was concerned. The place kept getting busy and as well we started hearing someone by the corner strumming a guitar and singing country music which definitely added to the ambience. Been there for a while we ordered another set of Nachos times 2 and along with it a couple of vegan fries. The Nachos were a definite hit and they would be the first ones to be wiped clean from the table and we did end up ordering another one of those. The vegan fries were fresh and tasty as well. Did devour those as a group and I think we ended up repeating a couple of those as well. All in all great vibes great food and definitely should be in your list to sit and eat/drink there in case you happen to be around. Good times guaranteed!!

This place kept getting recommended for food options in the Pleasanton Area. And I see why. We went on a Saturday around 7 pm. No reservations need. They had indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for indoor seating. They cleaned a table and we were seated promptly. Mike was our server and he was great. He recommended a Torpedo (which is on the secret menu) for Honey and the #12 Secret Swami’s IPA for me. Both were great drinks. We ordered wings as an appetizer with the chipotle bbq sauce on the side instead of. The sauce was a little spicy so if you're not into spices try it on the side. Honey has the Burger, (Mike's recommendation) and I had the chicken sandwich. Both were good. We had better burgers, but this burger was good. The duck fat fries are amazing. They are light and crispy and have a good flavor to them. Would recommend. We were looking at their brunch menu and saw they had breakfast tacos, chicken and waffles, and bottomless mimosas so we came back with friends the next weekend for brunch. And Mike was our server again. Mimosas were on point, they ran out of guava but the orange and pineapple were good. In my opinion, dinner was better than brunch. I had a breakfast burrito and it could use a little more flavor. Honey and a friend had the chicken and waffles and they said the same. Our last friend had a burger and came to the same conclusion as honey did for dinner. But the mimosas are truly bottomless and we had 3-4 each and felt good after. Mike was a great server and made the experience that much better.

Really love this place. Came in from Dallas for business and a friend suggested to go here. Incredibly nice people and roughly 600 whiskeys……and the prices were great! It was Wednesday which is their day for 50% off whiskeys and tequilas at $15 or less for a 1 oz pour. Very knowledgeable whiskey people and you can try a lot of great whiskeys for a minimal amount of money. The prices were good before the 50% off. Food was good too. Nothing overly fancy but certainly tasty. Come hungry as the portions will fill you up and then some. Definitely coming back next time I am back in town. Thanks for the whiskey suggestions Clint! The Heaven Hill Grain to Glass and your private barrel from Old Forester were great choices.

Beer Baron is an awesome place in Pleasanton!

My wife and I enjoy trying places where we have not been and mostly rely on reviews to consider a place. In some cases, those reviews were unreliable, but in the case of Beer Baron, the reviews are on point. The location, the ambiance, staff, and food are all excellent! We were there Saturday evening.

We are not locals in Pleasanton but we go there often because we are a member of a family health club not too far away from downtown. The downtown area of Pleasanton is really nice and friendly area with lots of places to choose from. Beer Baron is a must visit to try at least once specially if you love beers, whiskey, and anything in between.

For starters, we tried the carnitas tacos and gulf prawns. Both were really delicious. Do not forget to request for their hot sauce made in-house. After the first try at their food, it is when I was torn with deciding on the next food items we wanted to order. I contemplated between sticking with the Bar Snacks and ordering from the Main dish, since the entire menu all seem delicious. Our fantastic server Stephanee, got me convinced to try the burger. She was right! Burger was delicious as well. My wife had a Mac and Cheese with duck, she is not a regular Mac and Cheese eater but this one, she really enjoyed. In fact she ate the left-overs for breakfast. We were actually already full from the first round of food and struggled with the next round. I would normally try the beers but since I was driving I went for the suggestion of our server to try the Whiskey Baron. It was good as well! My wife ordered it too after she tasted it.

The crowd is a good mix and friendly, you just feel the good vibes all around. Like I mentioned, our server was awesome and there was another person who approached us and made sure that we are doing okay, he maybe the owner or manager.

If you are looking for a quiet place on a weekend, this may not be the place for you. You do have to come for the good vibes, fun, awesome food,, and people...

This was my first time at this place, came as a group of 3 and was sat down right away with choice of low or high top tables, our server Chris came to us very shortly after and asked to get us started, as this is our first time here we needed a few more minutes to look over the kitchen menu and drink menu, that in fact was the last time we would ever see Chris. You see after Chris left, we had made up our minds a good 4-6 min after he left, I’m going to to just round DOWN and say it was 30 minutes had gone by, during which we had observed Chris go to every single table but ours, as if our table just flew into the void. Now it was December 23rd, so understandably the place was simply busy, however it being a bar most people just order drinks, we watched Chris go to every single table even outside and completely ignore our table. We watched him check in on tables that already had food, we watched Chris take some leisure time and scrub a couple water cups in the stack of 50 ready to go water cups. We watched more tables enter and get helped. It was just confusing because he would walk past our table by near inches to go hug and high five someone near by, the front lady even came over to check on us because we were looking extra miserable, finally we had noticed another female worker walking around and because I have a severe case of osteoporosis, I had the female in the group mention to the worker that we had been waiting for over half an hour. The issue with Chris was we watched him give so much attention to everyone around us and it boggles my mind because even if he like had a horrible memory issue and forgot to take our order, you’d think that he would at least still stop by and ask. Needless to say the new waitress took over for us because Chris knew he would have gotten a fat ZERO tip. This waitress was nice, and came to our table enough times to check up on us. Food was good, ordered the chicken chipotle sandwhich, drink was good and strong, bought the souvenir cups, 6/10 experience wouldn’t want to...

I wish to give a higher rating as the servers and host were nice, but the timeliness of the service was very poor. There were three or so large parties outside that probably causes the delay in service, and my boyfriend and I were sat in the back past them. After 10-15 minutes since being seated, we were wondering when our order was going to be taken. A nice server came up to us and said they weren’t our server for the night but would get us started. They took our order and we ordered both drinks and food at once since it was really busy, and we knew what we wanted to order by then. Our food came out before drinks, but then we never got utensils for our food. We had probably 4 different servers during the night so when the next server brought us our food, we asked them for some utensils. They never came back with any - even saw them walk back to serve the larger parties - so my boyfriend went to the host stand and asked for place settings. The host gave us some extra plates, but said they ran out of clean utensils and the cloth napkins. The host then said they’d bring them to us, also never came back. We eventually asked the server (another server) that brought out our drinks about 10-15 minutes later for napkins - at that point we could skip the fork and just needed napkins - and they brought out to-go napkins, which we were okay with. We were just happy to have some napkins with the al pastor tacos we ordered. Since we didn’t have utensils I used the stick from my boyfriend’s sandwich to each the taco meat that fell out of the taco onto my plate. I was excited to see the Christmas decor and have a themed drink but I wouldn’t go again after the...
