I don't like leaving negative reviews, and I don't feel it's fair judging based on only the last less than positive experience, so this 2 star review averages a solid 4 star lunch with a 0 star dinner experience. Visited this summer for lunch at ~2pm, when it was mostly dead. Had fantastic butternut squash ravioli with shrimp added, caesar salads and whitefish. Server Joe was excellent. We couldn't wait to go back for dinner. We believe that restaurants are at their best when they're not busy, so we went at 4pm on a Saturday for my wife's 50th birthday. I mentioned the occasion when I made the reservation and again when we sat down. We perhaps made the mistake of sitting at the bar for dinner, where we were basically ignored for 60 minutes by the staff. I ordered a $37 ribeye that was a 1/4" thick and looked like it came from Dollar General. My wife's lemon shrimp was served in a bath of butter that was somehow tasteless. Caesar salads were drowned in dressing and again somehow bland. The occasion was forgotten until we cashed out when we were offered a birthday canoli in a box to go. This place has some potential, but the execution and management of staff is severely lacking. I say go elsewhere to spend your $100+. (photo is the soup that remained from the lemon shrimp, I poured it out and did not finish the dish)

I have been here a number of times with my husband and enjoyed it. Tonight I was dining alone and received very poor service, although the food (Asiago Baci) and apps were great. I understand many restaurants are short staffed, so I wasn't upset about things taking a long time. But I was disappointed that I was neglected as my server frequently checked in with the larger parties next to me but walked past my attempts to flag him down. I get it, bigger parties tip more so they get more attention, but it made ordering difficult. I was prepared to just chalk this up to a bad night, but near the end of my time as I was signing my bill and preparing to leave a different worker came over and rudely asked me to give up my table and move to the bar because she had a group waiting that needed my table. Without waiting for me to answer she reached down and picked up my umbrella next to me to usher me away with my things. I had my bill so I was able to leave, but I was kind of speechless - I waited my turn at the hostess to be seated just like anyone else, and if I hadn't been ignored I would have dined much more quickly and likely already gotten my bill and left by then.

We have been going to Nico and Vali for years. It is usually our favorite Plymouth restaurant. We made a reservation for Friday evening to celebrate our 49th anniversary with friends. We arrived were escorted to a table even thought there was a much cozier, comfier and private area. We asked for that table, stood in the middle of the room for ten minutes and were finally seated. Our server arrived with a large cask of water. It was warm, had no ice in it and appeared cloudy.. She did not bring regular glasses, rather very small, plastic juice cups. Later she would tell us that they "ran out of glasses." We asked for ice and she brought one small glass of ice for the table to share. We flagged down a young man and asked him if we could have some cooler, cleaner looking water in a new pitcher. He brought one, still no more ice. We ordered our food. She did not ask us how we wanted our fish cooked, did not ask what type of dressing we wanted on our salads, did not bring bread. Later, she would tell us we have to "request those things." Our food arrived, my fish was not blackened (love your white fish) but I didn't say anything. She was not the person who brought the food. We tried to wave anyone down for some ice and bread. By the way, the restaurant was filled and every other table had regular glasses, bread, a large cask of ice water. When another server found her, she returned and was quite argumentative. If Nico has changed their standards and customers are now responsible for the quality of their service -- then post it. Since you've been open I bet we have frequented your restaurant thirty or more times. The food is always excellent and the service is usually good as well. Tonight, however, we felt like an after thought. Quite frankly, I wonder if she picked up our bottle of water left over from another table. I don't remember having worse service in quite some time. It was very embarrassing to have this experience with our friends with us, as we raved about your establishment before arriving. I want to believe that this was simply an anomaly. Our anniversary dinner was subpar (and yes when we made the reservation we noted that it was a special occasion. Beyond disappointing and yet we left her a good tip -- because that's...

We were here for a family birthday. They said the place was great, but I disagree. The resturant had very few options that were not heavy carb and sauce smothered options besides salad. The food that was made was all mediocre in flavor and quality, and the prices are very high. I don't feel like we paid for what we got out of the resturant. I wonder if the place was better and has lowered their quality, riding on their reputation from regulars to keep them going? I can say I will never go back here again. The indoor space is very small, we had 4 near miss collisions with staff and other guests all around the same blind corner. The place also has only a single restroom for each gender, so there was frequently a line which took away from the meal. We also had only two options for a reservation time, 4:30 pm or 7pm. When you're looking at dinner with children also attending, neither of these are dinner time. Kid meals were also meant to be "fancy". My kid didn't like the fancy mac and cheese, so we had to order a second meal so there would be food to eat, $$$. Just more trouble than this place is worth. The server was also hard to get a hold of. Everyone was looking at some point over the meal for the server to order, ask for a refill, or wanting to ask a question. Some were missed when we ordered dessert, so had to be tracked down. Same for getting coffee at the end of the meal, and when kids meals were ordered with drinks, they still came out with the meal like everyone else... that whole point in ordering quickly for the kids is to get the meal quickly. So like I said, I don't recommend this place and will not...

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic and has to be my favorite Italian restaurant I have ever gone too. The salads are all absolutely delicious, and the free bread + oil they give is warm and just so amazing! (Plus they always bring out a second or third bread if I ask for it). The drinks are absolutely fantastic as well and they have a great choice of wines, beers, cocktails, and a cider/fruity beer or two. The entree's are absolutely delicious. From the Gnocchi to the Asiago Baci it is amazing. The butternut squash ravioli are my personal favorite and have an amazing fall-likw taste to them and it goes so well with the brussel sprouts and walnuts on top. To round things off with the food, they have quite possiblly some of the best desserts I've ever had. I tried the tiramisu and lemon tart last time I was there and they are mind blowingly good. I had never had a lemon tart quite like this before. It was super light and fluffy, and it wasn't an overpowering sugary fake tasting dessert. I wish I ordered two of them The only drawback at all about the restaurant is the dining area can get a bit noisy during busier hours, but they have a heated outdoor tent seating area where things aren't nearly as loud for anyone who is noise sensitive or just likes it being a bit quieter for food.

Overall 15/10, this place is well worth driving an hour and a half for. I forgot to say anything about the staff, but they are all super nice and provided amazing...
