BBQ Toni8ht — Restaurant in Pompano Beach

Asalaamualaikum Everyone. I've been meaning to leave a review for this place for a while. We visited a couple months ago. We were pleasantly surprised to find this halal restaurant because as you know, finding one in this part of Florida is tough. We loved the BBQ platter, but we have some advice for the owners.

1. If you want to make money, the portion sizes are too big for what you're charging. The platter we ordered was $35 for 4 people. But honestly there was so much meat and rice, it should have cost at least $50.

2. The dining service has to improve. At one point, the younger girl was literally under the table on her hands and feet cleaning under a table that just had a big party. That looks so unprofessional. Get a bucket, vacuum, broom/dustpan. NOBODY should be on their knees cleaning. Especially not when other patrons are eating.

3. Get rid of the tablecloth and/or put down glass tops so cleaning the tables is easier. The girls seemed to be struggling with this.

4. Write down orders, and the kitchen should follow those orders. Our waitress was great, but we saw that one of the cooks in the back kept coming out and confirming what else they ordered. Write it down, follow it and make sure it's right. Again, this makes you look like you don't know what you're doing.

5. Get more mature staff. A couple of the staff looked like they were teenagers. It's fine, but they need to be working to help rather than just standing around.

And lastly, invest in paint/decor when you can afford it. Clean up that shelf in the back by the register to make it more useful.

First time online order for pickup about 1 hour before closing. I ordered a wrap, and 2 chicken dishes with yellow rice & 2 pieces of naan. The restaurant feels unkept. There was a small dish pan on the floor behind a curtain catching water that was leaking from the roof. The naan was hard as if it were microwaved as mentioned in other reviews (which means we couldn’t eat it) 😡 The chicken (leg quarters) were not very meaty. My other chicken was good, bursting with flavors. Now the rice…I ordered yellow rice as opposed to spicy rice, but the rice was EXTREMELY spicy!! I’m wondering if they gave me spicy instead of yellow. I do realize the food is expected to have some spice so I selected the lowest spice option & yellow rice in hopes of being able to eat & digest the meal. One of the containers of rice was manageable, the other had an insane level of spice & ended up in the trash. I am Afro American but have had these types of dishes before while hosting their weddings. I have never ordered from the restaurants until lastnight. I am a person that likes and can handle some spice. These dishes in my opinion could not have been prepared at the lowest level of spice. Now I’m wondering if their yellow rice is spicy or did they just give me what they had since I ordered online and they were paid. If it’s the latter…they lost what could have been a returning customer. And I’ve NEVER in my life had stone hard naan. It would have been better off at room temp. At least it wouldn’t have lost the texture and turned into a rock. $45 order- never again. To risky on...

Last night, my family and I dined at Barbecue Tonight, and it was a thoroughly disappointing experience from start to finish. It felt as though the restaurant was run by amateurs, lacking both professionalism and efficiency.

We ordered the Barbecue Grill Combo and Parathas, but both were major letdowns. The barbecue was served lukewarm, and the meat was overcooked and lacked flavor. The Parathas were greasy and far from the flaky delight we were expecting.

To make matters worse, we also ordered Nan Bihari Kabobs and a Nutella Shake, neither of which ever arrived. When we inquired about them, we received no satisfactory explanation. The Nutella Shake we did get was unpalatable and a waste of what should have been a sweet treat.

The service was incredibly slow and disorganized, and the staff seemed indifferent to our concerns. We were so unhappy with the overall experience that we decided to pay and leave immediately.

Barbecue Tonight clearly has a lot of room for improvement. Until they address their service and food quality issues, I cannot recommend...
