No need to beat around the bush let's get right to the Empanada!!! This place is hands down THE BEST DECISION TO MAKE when it comes to traditional and authentic Venezuelan food. If the amazing smell wasn't enough to make sure you came in and got yourself the BEST South Florida has to offer, then the staff will make sure to come in with a strong follow up punch just make sure that you receive the tri-fecta when it comes to the check boxes of dining haha. A must have is the Venezuelan lasagna, simply put, after my 2nd bite I had to ask who made it, then proceed to give my most earnest and heart felt thank you for allowing me to partake in the life altering,mind blowing, and taste bud engaging plate of GREATNESS!!! With empanadas out of this world, and nothing on the menu missing on any mark but hitting on every note you will not be disappointed when coming to Dulce Tropical Restaurant and Cafe. Oh and their secret ingredient, after telling them I need the recipes and secret ingredients, they responded with the secret ingredient is Love, LOVE!!!! Now who doesn't love food made with Love!!!! We couldn’t have made our film White Shark possible without the incredible support and catering from Dulce Tropical in Pompano Beach. Most of our scenes were shot less than a block away at a marina — beautiful but tricky when it came to basics like food, coffee, restrooms, and a place for the crew to recharge. Dulce Tropical became our oasis.

This family-owned gem took care of us like we were one of their own. Delicious home-style meals, refreshing drinks, and a cozy space to regroup between takes made a huge difference. Even our lead actor — yes, Vernon Wells himself (from Commando and Mad Max 2) — enjoyed one of their cheese empanadas… and loved it!

Dulce Tropical serves food with the kind of warmth and heart that’s hard to find — homemade, but with a special touch that feels imported straight from someone’s loving kitchen.
