Well, I tried again to come back to the Lester’s in Pompano, close to wheee I live and I had the same exact experience. This is the most unfriendliest, unprofessional establishment I have ever been to. The sad thing is, I was in coconut Creek running errands and was going to stop at the Lester’s there but I decided to come here and how sorry I am for that. At coconut creek, you are greeted with a smile and taken to a table where a server arrives promptly and greets you and takes your order. Here in pompano, I was not greeted, stood there for 5 minutes before I asked the young hostess if I should seat myself. She grabbed two menus and started walking very angrily to a table where she slammed down the menus and walked away. No, “a server will be right with you” or any greeting at all. She’s the same hostess I walked out on last time because of the horrible service. I sat for another 6 minutes without a server stopping or asking anything. The tables next to me was there before me and hadn’t seen a server either so I left. I asked to speak to the manager and of course she was not there. What professional establishment does not have a manager on site during operating hours? Lester’s in pompano is one, that’s for sure. In a good restaurant, there is teamwork, not here, all the servers cared about were their tables and no one else’s. It’s not a surprise that this place is run so badly, no manager on site to supervise. I will never step foot in this garbage establishment again and anyone that asks me about this establishment, I will go out of my way to discourage them. Now I’m going to the coconut creek Lester’s to have a nice meal and I’ll speak to their manager to find out why the store in pompano is run so badly. Is this a chain? A franchise? Absolutely horrible place. If you are planning on coming here, don’t, take the drive west to coconut creek, I have always had good service there. STAY AWAY FROM LESTERS OF POMPANO AT ALL COSTS
I just walked out of Lester’s in pompano beach due to poor service. The waiter came over and did not have an answer for every question I had for him regarding the menu. How can you have a special and not know the price? My salad arrived and I ate it and waited for my main meal. As I’m waiting, my dirty salad plate was sitting in front of me and the table was dirty from spilled dressing. The waiter walked by several times and didn’t pick up my dirty plate or clean the table. Then he is up front talking with the manager and others. There is a reason why the restaurant was empty. The waiter was probably the nicest guy, just not good at his job. Who wants a dirty plate in front of them and a dirty table? Then I walk to the register and offer to pay for my salad, I told the cashier what happened and her response is, “I know, right”. I asked for the manager and she walked over and said I don’t have to pay for my salad. I walked out without an apology. This is what happens when you hire kids, they just don’t care. I’ll drive the 20 minutes to creek and eat at that Lester’s from now on. I highly recommend not eating at this...
Read moreI have been eating here over 8-9yrs now and at least 2 if not 3xs a week in the last year. Not sure if it's the shifting of the world but today was very odd and made me and 2 other people that look like me very uncomfortable. They were there when I walked in. A few employees were huddled and chatting off to the side and none of them bothered to look my way. So I wait for about 4mins, then a Caucasian guy walks up and a passing waitress immediately asked if he needed help checking out. Because I wasnt sure if the 2 people who look like me had been helped I asked the lady if anyone addressed them and she said no and how the man that look like us has been waiting before her. At this time the waitress, who does not look like US overheard me and THEN asked her what she was waiting for. I was puzzled at this time as the group that was chatting totally ignored ALL of US as if they already assisted them. So I asked for the Mngr just to realize she was part of that group chatting. SMH. I explained the situation and how uncomfortable we ALL felt. She pretty much disregarded my feelings and stated that they are waiting for the take out orders to come up. I said that's not even the point. The point is is that no one bothered to ask if we were picking up or dining in. So she starts to ask the other lady and guy if they were and I stopped her as she was being condescending at this point and let her know that it's not even necessary at this point as I felt it needed to be brought to her attention the experience we were having. I ordered 2 separate breakfast plates and they were all mixed up as if someone forgot what goes with what and it wasn't correct anyway. I tried to explain it to the young chic at the counter but she wasn't listening either so I choose not eat there, re write my review and never eat there again as they have been messing up my order for far too long antway and I only complained 2xs out of 7-8 in the...
Read moreGreat food, great staff, fair prices, large portion, but parking is frequently annoying At first glance, this just looks like a really nice diner, but it's got a bit more to it and the locals know this. Parking is a royal pain. A small parking lot, and surrounding shops/businesses do not allow overflow parking. If you're having trouble finding parking, either wait/stalk patrons as they're leaving, or parallel park across the street. Unless there's a big crowd waiting outside, the wait times are pretty short, even with an over-filled parking lot. But know that you will not be seated until your entire party arrives. So keep that in mind. Inside, you get that diner feel. There is seating inside, as well as an enclose patio-like area. The staff are very attentive as well as pleasant. Jenny was our waitress during my last visit. She was great, very attentive, extremely helpful, and simply stated - a pleasure. Though you felt her sense of urgency to get to the next table, she took the time to ensure she had all questions answered, orders correct, and food as it should be. Speaking of food, it was quite tasty. The french toast was quite flavorful and fluffy. The eggs were made as ordered, and the sausage was good as well. The portions are fairly large as well. One slice of Lester's french toast is almost twice the size of every other restaurant's. And Lester gives you 3 for the same price. Upon getting the check, I was told I had to pay in the front. No gratuity was added to the check. I left full and happy. Great diner and extremely pleasant staff. My only complaint is the parking situation, but this is a minor complaint. My advice is to either park across the street or take an Uber/Lyft here. Breakfast for 6 was about $14 each (before tip) - Pancakes/French Toast, Eggs, Sausage, Bacon, &...
