Dami Sushi — Restaurant in Pompton Lakes

There is a lot to like about the place, and a few things not to like about it. The fish is of extremely high quality. The Chefs make wonderful rolls, and they are ready quickly. The waitstaff is wonderful. The Negatives. The price is higher than most AYCE places in the area, and it is not justified because. There are better places which charge less. For the higher than the norm prices, the menu is quite limited. There is no desert offered. After ordering the "from the kitchen" section, they tore my order sheet in half. This meant that after the first round, I could no longer order soup, salad, rice, or anything cooked. They don't tell you that when you go first order, but it was once chance only to order anything cooked, and after that, it was only sushi. There is no sashimi offered, even though this is the most expensive AYCE sushi place in the area.

So, if you like high quality sushi, and are willing to pay a premium, this is a great option. If you want more...

Can anyone say they ever ate till they dropped in sushi restaurant? I didn't until today when we went to this whole in the wall Dami Sushi in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Not a place you will expect to walk into a sushi smorgasbord, I mean they brought in the "BOAT," literally as you can see in the photo! Array of different fish were amazing and the freshness made me feel as if I was on that "boat!" No fancy lightings, pictures nor an antique vases. Just very well put together wall finishings and clean, wide tables with ton of culinary expertise at a very reasonable AYCE price. No bubbles, just quality abundance of all the sushi and appetizers that will make you want to come back again and again. Jamie the server really topped off with outstanding attention to details!!!! I am definitely a repeater in this...

PHENOMENAL. My new favorite area sushi restaurant. The menu is chock full of excellent options, the staff were so welcoming, friendly & attentive, and the owner Jamie really demonstrates how much she appreciates her customers. The entire restaurant -from the high quality food (freshest fish I've ever eaten for an AYCE option) to the relaxed yet super welcoming atmosphere - is a direct reflection of Jamie's efforts. Another great shout out to our server, Alex, who was awesome and so attentive!

The All You Can Eat menu was full of amazing choices (from unique special rolls to very traditional & delicious sushi fare) and was a great way for my guest and I to sample almost everything that Dami has to offer. We left delighted, and incredibly excited...
