We’ve easily spent thousands at this Waffle House over the last several years. And to be honest, the food wasn’t good. Terrible, really. It was always under or over cooked and the eggs were never right (either burnt or under cooked, and not all the way scrambled) which I don’t understand because scrambled eggs are the easiest thing in the world to make. I found myself wishing I could just go back to the grill and cook my daughters eggs myself. The only reason we went there is because ever since Berrytown closed down, there is no where to go out to breakfast on a Sunday. I always thought the saving grace of this place was the staff, they were always so cheerful and sweet, and we knew them by name. That was, until the last couple of times I went. Occasionally I would come in by myself. A few weeks ago, I came in about 9 am on a Sunday morning and ordered a chicken plate and a coffee. I soon began to hear the waitress ranting to the other staff about how she thought that I had been there too long and that I was taking up her tables, despite there being empty tables and/or no one waiting the entire time I was there! The single only time that anyone was waiting it was a big family who would not have fit at my little table anyway. When I asked for a second cup of coffee, she rolled her eyes and said “really?!?” This really upset me, but I tipped her anyway and left. Well a few weeks later I really wanted a cup of coffee so at 8 am Sunday morning I decided to go to Waffle House despite how I had been treated. The second I walked in that same waitress began complaining right in front of me that she thought I “was going to sit there for an hour drinking coffee and take up a table on a Sunday morning.” There were SIX empty tables and no one at the bar areas!!! The place was empty. Talking about how you don’t want a customer there right in front of them is extremely rude and hurtful! Before the waitress could even bring me my coffee, I got up, told her not to worry about it if me having coffee there was such a big deal, and left. We will never be back to this Waffle House and I surely hope that waitress starts treating...
Read moreWhat a train wreck. This place is nasty. My husband and I, along with our 4 kids, stopped there for a quick lunch around 1 p.m. on our way back from New Orleans from a cruise that we took. The staff took forever to come over and acknowledge us and to take our order. There were five girls and one guy working there. They were all standing around not doing anything the entire time. You can tell they waste a lot of the company's money for sure. We waited forever to get our food and some of it had to go back and be redone because it wasn't done correctly the first time. I'm from Missouri and our Waffle Houses are in much better condition. When you ask for cheese on your hash browns you get shredded cheddar. At this location they took a slab of plastic looking American cheese slice and laid it on top of the hash browns. It didn't hardly melt in at all. They didn't come back to refill our drinks but all of them were standing up at the counter laughing and joking and taking pictures with their phones and talking about this guy that showed up with a nice car and which girl was going to be going on a date with him next. It was extremely unprofessional and an uncomfortable atmosphere. Then, to top it off, when we got ready to leave I I told my husband I was going to use the restroom and I would meet him outside. If I would have known the condition of the bathroom before walking in I wouldn't have even ordered anything. How can you have six workers standing around gabbing and being unproductive when you have a bathroom that looks like this? W Service was slow and unprofessional. Even our tables weren't fully cleaned when we sat down at them. That's a lot of workers not doing anything. All in all it was a terrible experience and I don't recommend this...
Read moreThey were SUPER busy today. Matt and Jackie and crew handled it like a boss! This was the best show I've watched at a Waffle House.
Update: Been a while since I've been to this location. One other table of customers. Not busy at all. New people being trained. I asked the waitress if the new cook would know what the food should look like. She said not to worry, she had an experienced cook in the back. The eggs were cooked entirely too hard and the grits were like paste. So much for the "experienced" cook. The waitress was a bit too stern with the new staff. But what do I know, I was in the food service industry for 10 years and managed staff for 20. Being mean, yes, mean isn't the way to train people. Flip a coin...
