I was excited to take my partner here on her birthday. I had only been one time prior to this and loved it, and she had never been here before. We arrived around 7:20 PM, which was 40 minutes before they closed. We hated doing that, but we had looked at the menu in advance and knew exactly what we wanted. We were the only customers in the restaurant and were seated quickly. We put in our order shortly afterwards and only had to wait a couple of minutes for two bread rolls with butter to arrive. They were very good, so naturally we wanted another one. When the waitress came back to the table to give us our food, I asked if we could get a couple of more rolls. She looked at us and said that she would have to charge us for a bread and butter. This was very off-putting given that we didn’t see them listed on the menu, the name of the establishment is bread + butter, and we had only received one each. We didn’t want to incur an additional cost on top of the cost of our ribeyes, so we declined the extra bread and butter. We began eating our food and got about halfway finished when we realized that we never got our salads. I would have complete empathy in this situation if the establishment were busy, but I was disappointed because we were the only customers. When we asked the waitress about the salads, she said “I’m sorry, do you want those in to-go boxes”? We agreed that to-go boxes would be fine, but we were upset because she seemed very insincere in her interactions with us. From the time we were seated, it felt like the only thing she was focused on was getting out of there. After seating us, she immediately started cleaning up the restaurant and getting ready to close even though there were at least two other employees there. We understand that every establishment has closing tasks, and there’s nothing wrong with working on these tasks in between trips to customers’ tables, but her verbal and non-verbal language came across as her being mentally checked out and not wanting to deal with us. On top of this, the restaurant shut the TVs off 6 minutes before close. We were only glancing over occasionally to check the score of the game, but it was another non-verbal cue that they just wanted us out of there. Why wouldn’t you at least wait until you actually close, especially when you have customers in there? We were already close to being done eating and were starting to wrap things up anyway, so it was unnecessary. We ended up leaving 2 minutes after the restaurant closed. I drove 45 minutes and was just trying to take my partner out for a nice birthday dinner, but I was extremely disappointed in the service and don’t know if I’ll go back. It’s a shame because the steak was very good (although a little more thin than we expected), and we enjoyed...
Read moreIf I could give this place a zero, I would. Never been there before and I have never had a place with less service, not very good prices for very little food, super greasy, super salty and not worth our time and money here. We also didnt even get our whole order. We waited forever for any kind of service and was thoroughly disappointed. I wont be back. Whomever leaves these reviews must either be relatives or people who work there or just have no taste buds. Went here for breakfast. It sucks. Unless you like grease. Alot of it. I had to use a napkin to soak it up off my plate.
This is a response to your response. This post was not at all meant to bring you or your business down. This review was for the owners to know what to fix with their establishment. We dont need to hear about your life story and how hard you have worked on the place and how long you have been away from your family... that is what comes with opening and running a new business. That first off has nothing to do with our experience we had there yesterday. Our daughter loves going there and thats why we went to try it out. We go to alot of different places and leave alot of reviews(mostly good). We only leave a bad review when we feel that the establishment deserves to know they need to fix some things. That is not scolding as you say. It is critiquing so it can be addressed. The plates of course were clean because we arent going to spend $30 and not eat it. We had thought about asking them to take it back and the waitress bringing our other plates very clearly saw my husband SOAKING up the grease in his plate with at least 4-5 napkins and she never said a thing. Why would we ask for help from individuals who see the issue but look the other way? And to reiterate again, this was not just SOME grease. This was literally a pool of grease and yes we eat at greasy spoons but this was still way to much. If you think this review is embarrassing, I could have left a picture which would have been way more embarrasing to you than this review. If you dont want to get a bad reputation, then take all the bad reviews that you get and fix the problem, dont badger the reviewer because that only looks worse on your establishment. So again, this review is not personal, this review is to show u and others that some things need some attention. Now, the cappuccino was nice and the place looks really clean and nice. But our food and service that day was subpar and if the breakfast was really amazing, that place would be packed just like the breakfast place we ate at this morning.(similar food, no grease...
Read moreI chose this place on random to find something different, I nailed it with this one. The food was amazing. I ordered the Mule burger with the fried pickles as the side. I had expected fried pickle chips but was grateful when I got fried pickles shaped like fries and a lot of them. The burger had a great flavor with the honey Sriracha sauce on it.
My buddy had his usual mushroom and swiss burger and came away saying it was the best one he had ever had.
Just to be clear this comes from two guys who has traveled the world through the Army as well as work.
I will talk the food up some more once I go back and try more items. The only reason for the missing star is the lack of direction with the ambiance. The sign outside says minimalistic as well as modern while the inside says farm industry. You would never know the name comes from pickles other than some of the menu items. I feel like I should have seen some old pickle barrels being that they make all there pickles in house and yet fail to advertise it.
This is a great restaurant to grab something to eat and if ambiance doesn't matter to you have a seat and enjoy. If you care about the feel of the place still go here but grab it to go until they find some direction.
I grabbed some pics of the inside to let you know when or if they change some things.
Enjoy, I know I did and will...
