Olympia Deli & Juice Bar — Restaurant in Poquoson

I’ve been to other “deli”-style spots outside of work, and usually, there’s a bit of a wait. While running office errands next door at the Post Office, I decided to stop in and see if I could grab something quick. I asked the staff what wouldn’t take long, and they confidently replied, “everything.” I went with the tuna salad bowl.

I was initially skeptical because the salad includes raw broccoli, but I was pleasantly surprised. The broccoli was cut into the perfect size for a salad—not too big—and I loved that the cucumbers and tomatoes were already chopped. It saved me time and let me enjoy the meal more. I got Italian dressing on the side, but honestly, I didn’t need it. The tuna portion was generous and flavorful enough on its own. That said, while the tuna was good, I personally prefer mine a bit sweeter. This had a slightly sweet taste, but not quite enough to balance out the bitterness for my liking.

And yes—it was ready quickly!

I’m hoping they can keep up the pace once classes at CNU start in a few weeks. I’d love to make this my go-to spot during office errands or lunch breaks.

A few things to note:

There’s limited seating—just a table and a few chairs—which is understandable given the space. My can of Pepsi was only cool to the touch, not ice-cold like I’d expect. I also picked up a pint of Blue Bunny ice cream, but about a quarter of it was a frozen block, like it had melted and refrozen. That was disappointing. I’ll definitely be back, but I’ll check the temperature of the soda next time and skip...

Came from norfolk to do review and try this food the older guy working the register needs to learn the menu and what goes in it. Asked him what goes in the plate he said just tomatoes lettuce i said i dont want that no tomatoes or veggies just lettuce drive back made it to hampton had to turn around because he gor tomatoes lettuce and cucumbers on my plate smh he argue with me on the phone came back show him the proof the cook apologize and remakes my order i buy 2 drinks and the same guy at the register charges me for the food and say we gotta charge u half price for the remake . Never got a refund for the first mess up also they still messed up on the second order i said no vegetables they sub that wirh peppers now. Smh will not recommend if the older skinny guy there with glasses only go in the morning before 4 o clock when the goid staff is there snd the young guy working the register. Night crew...

My husband and I just tried this great deli in the heart of Hidenwood shopping center. We decided to order lunch...I had the turkey club and he had the NYPD sandwich. We were both very happy with the meal. Everything was fresh and delicious. I also ordered fries to go with mine. They were crunchy and perfect, plus there was plenty to share. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying something else. Can't wait to try the smoothies and other fare. Even if you don't order food, this is still a great place to pick up snacks. They have a big variety if candy and chips...and they sell ice cream, and just about every kind of drink you can think of. A great little stop on an evening when you don't feel like cooking, or after school with the kids for ice cream and treats, or for a post workout smoothie. Lots of great reasons to try Olympia Deli, located in Hidenwood...
