Our second visit. We first tried it a couple weeks after they opened. It took over an hour for two sandwiches. Benefit of the doubt given bc itâs new!
Went again today, a couple months later. We knew theyâd made chances to address the wait times. Ordered online as they recommended to not have to wait. App said it would be ready at 6:30. When I arrived a little after 6:30, there was one person ahead of me, and no one else waiting. Finally got the food at 6:50, nearly 45 minutes after we ordered. App said 15 minutes.
So I was hungry at that point and grabbed a couple fries from the bag. The fries were ice cold and soggy. The woman working front of house first fought with me, until she touched them at my instance. The she said theyâd make me fresh one, but it would take 10 minutes. So I just left without fries b/c the fried chicken sandwich in our order would be cold and soggy if I waited. (I definitely didnât see or smell fries cooking while I was there - pretty sure I got dinner rush leftovers.)
When I got home to eat, it was even worse. The fried chicken thigh was significant smaller than weâd had there or at Graysonâs. Weâve been regulars at Graysonâs for fives years, and they sent us here for the chicken. Tastes the same, but much much smaller.
My husband got the teriyaki special doubled, so heâd have lunch tomorrow. I donât know what the single teriyaki looks like, but the double is one small breast. We are a very lite eatersâŠyet we both finished our food still hungry.
We are pretty disappointed bc it could be a great neighborhood spot. Iâm going to call Graysonâs to see about getting at least some refund for the fries and teriyaki. No sense in calling 8th st directly bc the woman who runs the register and phones is mean...
Read moreUpdate: Today I called in since they offered to fix my order from last time and let me tell you IM SO GLAD I DID! They fixed the saltiness. We did get the CBR sandwich this time and The chicken was fried to perfection still tender and juicy inside and crispy outside. Flavors all meshed well nothing overpowering and the perfect amount of seasoning! Also they seem to now regular fries. My toddlers had tenders and they now say it's the best chicken ever. So to say we are absolutely going to be coming back. Loved the food and the customer service.
Honestly wish I could love it the fried chicken is fried so well and the waffle fries are perfect in texture. With that said flavor boy was it's SALTY some bite ok or bland others might as well just eaten a salt lick it was so bad. It wasn't worth even eating. We ordered 1 Bangkok fried and 3 piece tenders and an extra side of fries. We took a few bites and it was enough to just tossed the whole thing it was inedible. We know it's new so kinks are bound to happen along the way but for both orders to have this problem is disappointing. Not sure if we will try again or not maybe once they've become more established. But for now this $34 order was absolutely...
Read moreOMG! Bomb.com. I want to use expletives but since this is a family show Iâll keep it PG-13. Chicken has a new name in Port Angeles and itâs called 8th Street Chicken. Another HIT from the ownerâs of Graysons. Located close to the corner of 8th and Pine. Tried the CBR in both fried and grilled versions. Both were well made and had that crafted gourmet vibe. They were also HUGE! Waffle fries were outstanding and perfectly seasoned. The rude boy dipping sauce added another glorious dimension to the meal. Service took about 20 mins but the food was extremely fresh. If I was a chicken I wouldnât mind being turned into one of their creations. The absolute best chicken sammies in town!!!...
