We came for SquatchCon Saturday and Sunday night but were coming in late. I called to make sure our room would be there knowing it would be a busy weekend: We got there about 10:30 pm the Saturday night of SquatchCon and went up to our room, which was 252 and the door was locked from the inside. We fiddled with it for a few minutes. We knocked and called out for anyone who might be inside and I finally called Brian at the desk. He came over right away and said it happens sometimes. He tried tape and lots of different things mentioning there is a tool and maybe the night guy had it. By now it’s almost 11 pm and it’s freezing outside. We’re cold and tired. Finally he says there’s one extra room and he moves us upstairs. We have all of our stuff and I found it hysterical he didn’t even offer to grab a bag for us. lol We get to the new room and he turns to my friend and says, “it was like that when you got there, right?” And she said, “we couldn’t have done that.” I asked him if he had actually asked her that and he said no. I was so horrified. The next day we were out literally all day. I think we were back in the room about 11 pm and we hadn’t had maid service, which was the icing on the cake.
Tuesday I called to speak to the manager and retold this story and her response was what do you want?
She told me it was a busy weekend and Brian was likely stressed as he was by himself. I told her the customer service was lacking and some training there might be good…she agreed and offered they would do additional training w the tool that opens the locks. Anyway we won’t be back at this Quality...
For someone staying in Port Angeles more than 1-2 days, who can walk stairs without trouble, this hotel is optimally located. There is a grocery store about a block away, and a public stairway from the area of the hotel down to the Downtown Port Angeles area for shopping/dining/sightseeing. In the second hotel building, kitty-corner from the main building, there is a laundry room with free washer and dryer plus a vending machine with laundry soap for purchase (you need a key card to enter it). Our room, while a bit "tired" especially on the outside, was very clean and comfortable. The lobby area is quite small; real estate must be at a premium in Port Angeles. The parking situation is less than optimal; it looked like about half of the guests had to park along the street opposite the hotel (which is free). Even so, we had no trouble getting a parking spot within 100' or so of our room during our stay. The free breakfast was about standard for a Choice hotel: waffle maker, hot and cold cereal, some fruit, yogurt, hot and cold drinks, and various toaster items. We thought because the breakfast area was so small that there wouldn't be much selection, but it was amazing how much they could fit in that area. We were also impressed by the free business center, which is again small (one computer terminal and a printer) but incredibly convenient and easy to use; I was able to go online and print a form that I needed in no...
Read moreIf I could give -5 I would. Sprained ankle and tailbone...no elevator and could not have a downstairs room. Bathroom leaked from toilet upstairs and once fixed was clogged, sheets were not clean and when I asked housekeeping to change them, she literally pulled blanket and top sheet off and sat it on the clean bed, changed bottom sheet and put everything else back. There was dried white spot on the bed skirt. The contractor replacing the railing suggested I go back down stairs and up the other stairs to get into my room, he was sitting in front of the door, it wouldn't have made any difference (I was in a medical boot... it obvious I'm jacked up). He creepily made comments on how nice my room was ( like he had been in there). The housekeeping walked straight in the first day I was there, no knock and so did maintenance. Could not sleep during the daytime because of the construction. Nighttime had lots of noise from outside and neighbors yelling. Also, when housekeeping came in, my towels that I put on floor for them to replace, they folded up and put back on the rack...I know because my hair was folded in with it. They also came in one day and obviously got side tracked.. trash was taken out, but bed was not made, counters not wiped down, the glass pitcher was still there 4 days later that was placed to catch the...
