Top Notch Smokehouse — Restaurant in Port Charlotte

This was so much better than anything I expected. My mouth is salivating as i write this review. I normally drive by Lowes on Tamiami trail and was intrigued by the Barbeque food truck parked in their lot. Every time I passed the lines were long so I vowed to try it out.

This weekend, I stopped by late in the afternoon and they were already sold out of many items; a testament to the quality of their food. Fortunately for me, they still had my favorites, ribs and brisket. i ordered a side of smoked beans and coleslaw. Everything was cooked to perfection. the ribs were meaty and the meat just fell from the bones. the Brisket was perfectly smoked as were the beans. The coleslaw was home made and just perfect.

I will definitely be joining the lines more often to wait for this incredible...

Hard debate about which is better - the food or the atmosphere! Family-owned business where it’s just as much fun to talk and hangout as it is to eat. Not sure what to order? They’ll let you sample everything! Brisket burger is a must esp when they have the tallow potato wedges! Brisket itself is super tender, pulled pork is solid, sausage has great flavor with that crisp casing, ribs come off the bone just by looking at them, and the chicken is dynamite. Throw some beans, Mac, coleslaw, or tater salad in the mix and you ate in business. Aunt Miriam’s banana pudding is worth the order, but it’s hard to have room for it after eating all the food! One of my most favorite places to go to! Give it a shot and you’ll know...

Top Notch Smokehouse BBQ is exactly what the name promises — top tier, next level, unforgettable BBQ. From the moment I walked in, the smell of smoke had me hooked. The brisket? The sides are no afterthought either — creamy mac & cheese, tangy slaw, and baked beans that slap.
