Blue elephant is a local place with Thai cuisine which has some hefty prices, but these aren’t for show, the food is genuinely worth the buck,I’d give it five stars if it was cheaper but it’s genuinely worth the visit,it’s a small joint with big flavors. They have a wide arrangement of foods on the menu, hell you can get a nice duck to chow on or even some sticky mango rice. It’s a wonderful place. Last time I went I got the volcano(which I genuinely recommend to anyone going there) it’s basically a ton of different meats served on a hot pan,it includes pork, shrimp, chicken and I don’t remember too well but I think it also has beef and rice, anyway this place gives you a Big Bang worth your buck. The service is also nice, they’re fairly quick and friendly, the people who work there are very quick to take your order. All their dishes taste genuine and get that homemade taste to them, all in all it’s a comforting place to eat at,take a friend and share a warm meal,or take your kids and let them try some of the sticky mango rice,or take your family and have a roasted duck, this place is honestly amazing and if I wasn’t so broke at the moment I’d be gulping down some of their milk tea.
Long story short, blue elephant is a somewhat expensive place but genuinely worth it since the food is tasty and the portions are huge,if you’re a fan of Thai fun go and try it,if you’re not GO AND TRY IT,I’m not trying to sound biased but this place is great.Last time I went I ate so much with my family and loved the food so much I ended up paying a whole 70 bucks and I don’t regret it a single bit,it’s...
Read moreI know it’s been tough going through Covid, but things are going back to normal and this place needs to make some positive changes...I’ve worked in the Industry for a long time and know what it takes to exceed guest expectations!
I went in for takeout and service was quite speedy! It took about 13 minutes for them to complete my order! I ordered shrimp fried rice which was cooked nicely but lacked some flavor. Papaya salad was perfect! I ordered medium spice level and it was definitely a medium. Beef and vegetable stir fry style dish wasn’t what I was expecting and was definitely lacking some flavor.
When I placed my order I asked lady at counter if I should order anything else, she mentioned Mango sticky rice! I said yes, let’s do that. To find out I was charged an extra dollar per portion (ordered 2) when whiteboard was labeled differently. (I don’t care about the extra charge, but when I asked about it they said they just raised the price.) you can’t just do that without notifying guest.
Wor wonton soup portion was absurdly small for the amount they charged.
Orange chicken was okay.
Worst part of the whole experience I’d say would be the price for the portion size.( maybe I was overcharged for all menu items, I don’t know and don’t care at this point) If the food flavor was excellent I’d care less about the $100 I spent. Most Thai restaurants have decent portions but this place isn’t one of them. Just disappointed, I...
Read moreThe food was absolutely excellent! While visiting Port Hueneme, we were craving Thai food and decided to try this place. We ordered the Chicken Yellow Curry, Wonton Soup, and Chicken Chow Mein (noodles) to-go since we had our little doggies with us and enjoyed it back at our hotel.
My husband, who’s usually very hard to please, loved the Chicken Yellow Curry—it was a definite standout! The Wonton Soup was incredible, with flavorful wontons, fresh spinach, and a taste that was truly out of this world. The Chicken Chow Mein was just as impressive, with a smoky flavor that took it to another level. 👍👍
The only reason I gave three stars for atmosphere is because the space is small and quite dark. Plus, there’s no sign on the front, which made it a little tricky to find at night. But once we found it, the amazing food made it all worth it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious Thai cuisine! PLEASE spend a little Money to place a sign. You will have more...
