IHOP — Restaurant in Port Hueneme

Walking in around 1030 in the morning, we were able to be seated right away. Annette was our waitress; she did not introduce herself, and I had to read her name tag; she asked us what we would like to drink and then walked away. We did not notice when she brought us our drinks since we were looking at the menu. No straws were provided with the drinks. After 10 minutes of waiting for her to come back, we had to stop Annette from speed-walking past us just to order our food. It felt like she was avoiding us as if WE did something wrong. While ordering, we asked for straws and she rolled her eyes while digging into her dirty apron. We asked for our food to be for to-go because I did not feel welcome at this location. We waited for at least 15 more minutes before I had to stop Annette again from avoiding us to see how much longer before the food was done. My wife and I were starving and wanted a good breakfast. I'm from San Diego, so I'm used to having plenty of excellent options and haven't been to IHOP in years. We read the bad reviews but our stomachs screamed to ignore them. We were seated immediately, waitress showed up in seconds for our drinks, maintained my coffee the entire meal, she was there ready for our orders as soon as we closed the menus, the food showed up promptly and hot. My harvest grain and nut pancakes were unexpectedly delicious. I'm extremely impressed and happy that there is a good breakfast location so close to where we live now. I think the other reviews must be grossly out of date. They don't compare to The Coffee House on Coronado Island, but for a chain breakfast restraunt, they easily...

My family and I visit this iHOP very often. I always eat the original french toasts regular combo. We really enjoy their food, when they cook it right! However, I need to say that the food does not always taste the same and their portions are always different. Here, I have had the best french toasts ever but also the worst ones. Sometimes they serve big portions and sometimes they give you kid portions. Complaining about it has no effect. They just apology for the incovenience or tell you that they will check the recipe, but they will expect you to pay the check in full. Basically, their customer service is nonexistent.
