Outpost — Restaurant in Port Huron Charter Township

I went here my 1st time to watch my cousins play at a music award event they held here recently.

I'm a very goth transgender woman, I'm also a very intimidating looking gal, to say the least, if you don't actually know me based on how I dress and carry myself. As soon as I walked in, the bouncer came right to me like a homing missle and immediately told me to "take off my hood, we have a no hood rule here" then proceeded to card me.

I looked at them like they were stupid honestly, that being said, it was extremely cold, and I was wearing my very long goth coat with fur on it, and it had a large fantasy styled hood. Now I wasn't going to keep my hood up to begin with, however I had just walked in from 28°F degree weather anyways but the fact I was hassled about it IMMEDIATELY as I was shaking off the chill of the outside - then they proceeded to card me when I look more than 21 years of age is wild. Honestly, I felt like I was discriminated against, and I was being singled out for no reason other than hateful random ignorance. So they could peek my ID, then the guy proceeded to smack me on the shoulder like "one of the bros" or something when I'm a very feminine woman.

I mentioned this to all my peers and friends there, and all of them were kinda stunned aswell.

What's the rule if you wear a big hat, then? Or if a cisgendered man had a hoodie with his hood on? Mine and everyone elses guess was there is no "hood rule," and if their is, thats probably the dumbest rule to enforce that me and everyone else has ever heard of.

This place is literally a hick hole in the wall, and I'll gladly not return. I tipped the bar staff for my drink, and after the event was over, I flipped my hood up in front of that moron bouncer and walked out the door to my car.

I've never been treated like that in a bar in my life, and it's wild, honestly. Very cringe, very obvious it was singling me out. I ironically went to Lynches and chose to keep my hood on, and nobody bothered me. In fact, a very sweet person wanted a picture with me because they loved my look.

I highly recommend staying away from this place, they're threatened by diversity they don't agree with and are passive-aggressive about it when as a business you should be welcoming literally everyone into your establishment so they want to...

Terrible Bar and the rudest bartenders I've ever dealt with. They conveniently don't tell you that in order to pay with debit/credit card you either have to buy $25 in drinks or they charge you $35..... I've heard of places requiring a minimum amount in order to run the card. But NEVER have I EVER heard that if my drink is $10 and I don't have cash you are going to charge me $35!!! Not even the $25 that would be the minimum...no they are adding an extra $10. Probably to give to the waitress that CONVENIENTLY neglected to tell the customer this before...

Bands almost every weekend, check Facebook for days and bands. In these photos, Flip N Nipsy was playing on a Saturday night. Bar food like nachos and wings are delicious. Snack vending machine on site. Pull tab machine on site. 2 pool tables, but I feel like a 3rd wouldn't hurt this bar on busy nights. Also bring your own stick. Large dance floor. Fenced in outdoor smoking section. Lots of parking! Bouncers/security on site on Fridays and Saturday. Karaoke on Sundays and Mondays. Open mic...
