Sea Ranch Cafe — Restaurant in Port Neches

Fried fish and shrimp are almost always good in our opinion but again disappointed with the hush puppies and shrimp gumbo. I have reviewed them on Facebook before about how horrible the hush puppies are and I see other people always complaining about them but still very greasy as always. Not sure why their hush puppies are consistently horrible but most other places seem to know how to properly cook them. And also the shrimp gumbo is just small frozen shrimp in broth with absolutely no veggies in it. Also other reviews like this about the gumbo going several years back but they obviously don’t care about bad reviews on google or Facebook because it doesn’t get better. When we walked in, there was confusion about who had been waited on and who had not. The order placing area in inconveniently located right inside the front door, no room for a line. We ordered. They have tablets for cash registers and tipping is mentioned before you even get any service. My barbecue tacos were okay. Too bad they arrived at the table long before my family got their food. Timing is EVERYTHING. My family got fried popcorn shrimp... none of them finished their meal. My dad even asked if their shrimp was overcooked too and they said yes. Overall, it wasn't very good. My family was looking for crawfish, and I heard about Sea Ranch Cafe. We pulled up, and you could tell from the outside that this is one of those places all the locals visit regularly. When we walked in, we were greeted by a nice young lady at the counter who was helpful for us ordering there for the first time. Then we chose a table and filled our drinks.
