Doghouse Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Port Orange

We went to see Molly Hatchet, at the Doghouse Bar & Grill on Friday the 13th, 2019. This was the first time here and we were not very impressed. For all the hype for Molly Hatchet, they were crap! The sound guy must have been asleep. The bass was so strong you could feel it in your chest. Besides that their music wasn't very good at all. We tried, but could only stay for three songs. They were that bad! Probably because they're Molly Hatchet in name only, with none of the original members in the current band. Regarding the food. We had the Pulled Pork sandwiches which were tasty but way too salty for our tastes. We also had the Mash & Mushrooms which was really good. My other complaint was that the bar only accepted "Cash"! Who carries cash anymore? Unfortunately I doubt we be returning to the Doghouse Bar & Grill anytime soon.

UPDATE: October 2021 to April 2022. My wife and I are big fans of Big Engine, and when they're in Port Orange they play at the Doghouse Bar & Grill. This is actually at great venue for them to play as they always fill the place. Despite our previous experience at the Doghouse Bar & Grill, we have come back many times to see Big Engine. It is a very convenient location for us. My only complaint is with the outdoor bartenders. Depending on who you get, the price changes for the same order.(?) Other than this we are happy to be returning to the Doghouse Bar & Grill in Port Orange.

UPDATE: Dec. 18/22. Since arriving back in Florida on Nov. 1st, this is our first vist to the Doghouse Bar & Grill. We again came to see Big Engine play, and despite the cool temps they put on a great show. (as usual). We had a really good evening there. A special thank you to the Doghouse Bar & Grill for the "Customer Appreciaton" BBQ. That was a nice surprise. 👌 Aside from our very first visit to the Doghouse Bar & Grill to see Molly Hatch? Which was a bit of a disaster, we really enjoy coming to the Doghouse Bar & Grill now, as some of my earlier complaints seem to have been addressed.👍 Keep up the good work. 👍 Cheers 🍻 Update: Nov. 24, 2024. As per my last update and review. We really enjoy coming to the Dog House Bar & Grill to see our favourite band, Big Engine. One recommendation though. It would be nice if they did something about the area in front of the stage. It's very dusty and dirty. Perhaps put down some wood chips or pea gravel? Anything...

The food was good. I ordered chili, cheese dogs and the wings. Who ever is cooking the wings knows what they are doing. They are cooked perfectly. The only thing is they need more sauce on them. I like alot of sauce. Just my preference. The chili dogs are also very tasty. I gave them 4 stars because I ordered cheese fries and they gave me chili cheese fries. I only wanted cheese. I have been there twice since I moved around the corner because the food was that good. (That's within a 3 day period). It is a bar though and not a restaurant so that is the atmosphere you walk into. However, the customers was also very friendly. One customer even offered me a wing to try before I even purchased them. The food also doesn't take long at all. I did order extra sauce on the wings the second time but it still came like they did the 1st time. They just need more. The staff was also very friendly even if they are busy. I went there the 1st time during football (playoffs) and they was kinda busy. The second time wasn't as crowded but still had friendly people and staff. There was a small fight the 2nd time but it didn't last long at all. Everyone seems to know everyone and it was stopped immediately. Just a little entertainment while waiting for your food. I'm not a big drinker myself but I will definitely be back to get dinner for my family. One last thing. I ordered almost the same thing both times but the price the second time was higher than the 1st. They do give you a receipt but I didn't have the 1st one to compare it to. Overall great bar food. The cook knows what he's doing in the kitchen. Just add more sauce...

I wonder if this building has any upgrades?I'm not too sure.it looks like a holding tank for a wildlife refuge or maybe it's a fun house.an outhouse would look like a castle compared to this.lucky that there is no toll booth at the entrance to the parking lot.what can you expect as you enter this glorious watering hole for all the animals that have traveled such great distances to quench their Thurst. Inside WOW WOW WOW.you would be amaze as to the customers.they all look like escaped convicts from maximum security prison in mister Rodgers neighborhood. Some short,some tall,and some you can't tell what they are.but it's ok.by the time that they finish their daily supply of different flavored drinks,they won't know if they are coming or going, but to each it's own.a lot of good entertainment such as bands that play there that l can't say much except that sesame street would be a better choice. After you finish your drinking habits your eyes roll round and round and can't remember if you went there with your spouse just to find out that it's your neighbor or someone else's date but l guess it doesn't mater because when your spouse shows up,that is when the party starts.so good luck and...
