HONEST REVIEW: We haven’t been here in a while but we remembered how amazing their food was so we came by to support them! These past couple of years, we’ve seen a few of our favorite restaurants closed down due to hard time so we’ve been trying to support local business as much as we can.
SERVICE: First off, there was a lady in front who was doing EVERYTHING: taking orders, making drinks, doing cashiers, taking to-go orders and bringing out to-go orders. It was during dinner time so it was a non-stop rush hour. We felt bad for her and figured perhaps it was a one off day and they were missing an employee so benefit of the doubt there. She was running infront and in the back and it looked like she was literally running a marathon. Not going to lie, it was very distracting watching her but I get it, she’s trying her best.
FOOD: It was delicious and excellent. I got massaman curry (spicy level 3). It was a tad sweet for my liking so my fault for not upping the spice levels to balance that out. I also got the roti (SO CRISPY AND YUMMY) to go with it but asked to not add the condensed milk. Normally the roti is a dessert but I wanted to dip it in my curry. My partner got the beef pad see ew and he enjoyed it.
ATMOSPHERE: I hate to say it but there were 6-7 tables in the front that wasn’t cleaned. Customers would leave and there was no one to clean the tables. Again, she was alone managing the front alone. It was again very distracting and very unpleasant to look around to see that you’re surrounded by dirty tables. At that point, we were one of the 2 tables left that were still dining as the rush was ending so it was very noticeable. Cute place besides the mentioned above.
AFTERMATH: Ugh, I wish that was all I had to say but we both had diaherra that night. So it made us think, if the front was a chaotic messs… WHAT DOES THE BACK LOOK LIKE?? If I had to guess, they had meat/seafood out so they can quickly cook it and perhaps they were sitting to out too long? I don’t know but I can only imagine. That being said, I don’t know if I would come back again but this is the first time we’ve experienced this bad experience at this restaurant. All other experiences had been great: There use to be a young guy in the front but not sure what happened to him but he needs to...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews for Lan LaMoon I decided to host my Dad's 89th family birthday party. (8 people) So I stopped by to speak to the owner to see if we could arrange details. Ie. Decorations, special cake (from someplace else), specific times, ordering from dinner menu and luncheon menu since we would be there at 1:30pm on a Tuesday...Well Khun Ploy was AMAZING! Not only was I able to set everything up but she helped me on our special day. I have cooked Thai food before it became fashionable...40 years ago and have traveled to Thailand 15+ times. My family has a high bar when it comes to Asian food especially Thai food. This restaurant rose to the occasion. I had spicy Basil chicken yummy, a platter of spicy chicken basil rice...yummy. Mom had chicken panang...yummy spices, papya spicy salad, Dad had chicken and shrimp pad thai...(one of his favorites) perfectly cooked, my 2 nephews level spicy #4 loved it. ( be warned this is traditional Thai spicy) (You can always add more dry hot peppers from the table spice condiments.) And an assortment of apps. The best being chicken satay with peanut sauce and traditional sweet cucumber sauce on the side. Others in my group tried a variation of this order. We were treated royally and they were the nicest people taking care of us along with several other tables. A typical happy and charming Thai family ...we felt welcomed and special. My Dad was so happy! The ambiance is comfortable. Finally, I have found this new Thai jewel that is our "go to" restaurant and we made new friends. 🙏Kop Khun Ma Ka khun Ploy and your wonderful chef husband. My best to your khun Ma and your visiting friend(husband and ADORABLE baby) We will be visiting again soon!!! I left your restaurant feeling like family.🙏🙏Give this restaurant a try. I am sure you will enjoy your whole experience like we did. So happy we over ordered so we...
Read moreThis was definitely top 3 of my worst dining experiences ever. I have absolutely zero idea how they have the 4.7 rating they do unless they achieved this by dishonest measures. The food was decent and that’s the end of anything “good” at this restaurant. Upon being seated the 4 of us waited a literal 30 minutes before even being greeted. At that point we should have left because everything after that went as far downhill as I’ve ever experienced. After waiting that long without even being given waters we were expected to give our entire order right then and there. We then waited another 20 minutes to get our drinks and that was after my having to get up from the table and ask for some waters at the very least. Only 2 of the 4 of us were given waters and one of our group wasn’t given the drink he ordered until we had asked 5 separate times. We had 2 of our 3 appetizers brought out but the 3rd one didn’t arrive until long after the person who had ordered it had already gotten his entree. Speaking of entrees, 2 of the 4 were brought out 20 minutes prior to the third and then I waited another 5 minutes for my meal by which time the others in our group had entirely finished their entrees. We then had to almost beg to pay for our meals so we could get out of that place. There was one woman working the front and I wish I could say she was overwhelmed but when we arrived there were only 2 other tables with customers. It would have taken her less than 2 minutes to get the 4 of us waters. The entire experience was a complete disaster and I felt terrible as I’m the one who suggested my friends and I go there. With service that terrible our meals should have been comped. Never, ever, ever again….. This place should be avoided if you’re looking for even a fraction of...
