My wife and I stayed at a hotel in Daytona last spring. We drove around, sightseeing the area. We were on Herbert st. in Port Orange, around 4:00 pm, and saw the Porthole Bar & Grill. We parked the car in the handicapped parking spot, grabbed our two-year-old daughter and my service dog. I am a disabled veteran and received a service dog due to the injuries I received in Iraq. As we were just about to lock our vehicle up and head on in to eat, a waitress who was directly in front of our car, standing next to the building, yelled at us, saying that animals are not allowed inside. I smiled and said, “oh, no worries, my dog is a service dog.” She responded with, “I don’t care what you think it is,” no dogs are allowed. The way she said it, it was so condescending to us. I felt that she was very arrant and rude. Because my wife and daughter were with me, I did not want to argue with the waitress. I replied with, “ok,” we loaded back into the SUV and drove off to find another place to eat at. I found out later that this establishment has a long history of not understanding the ADA laws and service dogs, which is sad that the manager allows this kind of ignorant behavior. There are ADA laws that protect people with service dogs. If I was by myself, without my family with me, I assure you, they would have had their hands full with me. I would not stand for it. That kind of behavior and conduct should not be tolerated. I cannot give any recommendation for this establishment. I can easily say I will not be...

After I explained to staff that I wanted my fish sandwich made to go because I would be taking it home after the band stopped playing, the waitress threw it away while I was speaking with band members during a break. When I approached them about it the one who did it left and the young heavy blond was VERY rude to me telling me she didn't care and only cared about the fight that was breaking out between 2 men she over served. The fight was over and the cook and another employee were handling it. There were 5 employees that night. She wouldn't give me a refund or a raincheck for another night. All I ate was the fries. Not 1 bite of the fish so I can't even tell you if it was good. The only thing good that night was the band. Also, there is something strange going on next door. Young people were going in and out a door that led from the bar to another business from the inside but was very hush hush. I think it might be...

I can't answer the food category because we were never served. Took quite some time to get 2 vodka tonics to which the waitress came and said they were out of tonic or wasn't working ATM so got ginger ale.I will say they were very strong drinks so that's a positive if you're intention is to get drunk. So then she drops the menu down and never returns. We sat there quite some time. We're both extremely patient so I know the time was certainly inadequate for a waitress. Also there were very few people sitting at the tables. The majority of the patrons were getting service at the bar. She was also alone but seemed to be killing it. Here's how I'm gonna say this, if you come sit at the bar and order your food with your first 🍻 The staff all seemed very nice and the place was clean. It's a...

Good times but the acoustics are terrible. The lovely and super talented rocker Jasmine Cain was playing acoustically. Still, if you can get a drink, patience is a plus! It appears the bartenders pool tips? If so, this explains the lack of motivation to actually tend to the bar clientelle. I observed them appearing busy by being busy but a guy sitting at the bar was trying to get a drink over 30 minutes, he said? Didn't take me as long after putting my $ up. We all have to learn patience and understand work ethics are no longer present. Maybe they can set up a self-service drink machine to replace the employees. Idk just a thought and an observation.

The Port Hole is a great place to hang out and meet people. Everyone is very friendly. The servers are awesome and they make great drinks! Try a Butterfinger. They are so yummy! Stop by sometime when ToyBox is playing and you're sure to have a wonderful night!
