A Hidden Gem in Port Orange! I can’t say enough wonderful things about Turquoise Cafe and Bakery! This charming little spot has quickly become my go-to place for both casual meals and special treats. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the most incredible aroma of fresh-baked goods and the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The bakery selection is absolutely divine - their croissants are buttery perfection, and don’t even get me started on their seasonal pastries. I tried their saray muhallebi last week and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The coffee is expertly brewed and pairs beautifully with any of their baked goods. For lunch, their sandwiches are made with the freshest ingredients, and you can tell everything is prepared with care and attention to detail. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about their menu, always happy to make recommendations based on your preferences. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between cozy and sophisticated - it’s equally perfect for a quiet morning, a casual lunch with friends. Every visit has been exceptional, and you can tell the owners truly care about providing a quality experience. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality you receive. If you’re in Port Orange, do yourself a favor and stop by Turquoise Cafe and Bakery. You’ll leave with a smile on your face and probably a box of pastries to take home! Highly recommended for: Fresh pastries, excellent coffee, friendly service, cozy atmosphere, reasonable prices as a Turkish person I find the taste even better...
Read moreIf you have not been to Herbert's Bakery & Bistro in Port Orange you need to go. When you enter this quaint establishment you are greeted with soft subtle music, delectable smells and friendly staff ... Not to mention the eye candy in the pastry case. We ordered breakfast. I had the Monte Cristo Stuffed French Toast and my companion had scrambled eggs, bacon and bread.
The companions meal was beautifully presented with a side of arugula and balsamic reduction finishing off the plate. The eggs were good ... The bacon and bread with soft butter was amazing. Thick flavorful chewy bacon. Soft fresh aromatic bread with a wonderful crust. Although the greens were ignored by my companion, I ate them. I am not sure what she does with the balsamic reduction ... But OMG! They should bottle this stuff. I almost picked up a cinnamon or other spice to the taste. Belisimo!
The Monte Cristo was amazing. I had the turkey version. All of the items merged together into a very flavorful combination that I savored with every bite. When I return, I may ask to swap the chips (which I do not eat) with the arugula and have the balsamic reduction drizzled over the whole meal.
We also tried a chocolate eclair and a poppyseed crescent cookie. Both were good but the eclair stole the show. We brought back with us a bacon braid (think puff pastry lined with bacon and braided) and a Coconut Lime Cheesecake (slice). After all it is a bakery. You just gotta indulge every...
Read moreMy first time in...after weeks of driving by looking for this hidden gem. It's hidden in the side of the strip mall, the lighting is poor so keep your eyes open. Now I wanted a special treat for my birthday, ended up getting the blueberry cheesecake. Yum... what I didn't realize till I arrived home that it was a nobake. That surprised me, a bit of a different texture, the flavor was very subtle I would have enjoyed a bit more blueberry flavor..or many even a touch of lemon to brighten it up. With all of that said it still was delicious very filling the one slice lasted for three different sitting. The sales associate who helped me make my selection was gracious and very pleasant once the initial walk in was over. I decided to order the chicken ceasar salad sandwich it was good, made in a sub roll so much more bread than I usually eat, plenty of chicken... honestly I would have enjoyed it more in a wrap. The shop is tiny, with a few tables to sit and enjoy your selection and time. I will be back...
