BUYER BEWARE! I bought a custom leather recliner sofa in navy blue with a matching love seat recliner. It is considered “reclaimed” leather covered with polyurethane which they still sell currently. Because it was not real leather, and because the price was very high $5500, we asked about whether it holds up well and was told that we could buy a five year warranty that would cover it against pretty much everything including cracking. We have this in writing!! So we did.
We do not have children and we do not have any pets of any kind. The only person that sits on this couch is me and that’s only for an hour or two at night and that’s not every night. My husband bought a leather loveseat recliner to put in his office at Havertys because he records certain programs that he likes to watch on his own. He Siena’s a lot more time in his sofa and it has held up beautifully.
Where I sit and rest my head it is all CRACKED on the Lazyboy navy blue faux leather sofa. It is only three years old and still under a 5 yr warranty. We have been working with the warranty company for three months and they’ve been horrible to work with and they ended up denying our claim . It is only three years old and still under warranty.
They said that it was damaged due to body/hair oil. First of all it was never damaged by us, it was only used in normal use and not very often. We do not have a lot of company either. We went down to talk with the manager and he said there was nothing he could do for us except give us $350 which is how much we paid for the warrantee. However, that does not solve the problem of the cracked leather on our sofa. I would not recommend anybody to buy reclaimed leather products from La-Z-Boy. Their warranty is worthless on top of that. The company said they had all these additional exclusions which we never got a copy of. We are now in the process of having to go to small claims court to pursue this further. DO NOT BUY reclaimed leather merchandise and make sure they give you ALL the exclusions if you buy a warranty. But if this happens to you, they will deny the claim saying you DAMAGED it even though you used it for normal use. They are a SCAM!!! I recommend buying your leather sofa or loveseat at Havertys - they sell a more quality product...
Read moreCustomer NO Service-I remember my grandparents and parents buying Lazy Boy furniture, so when we had our first child 22 years ago, we went to Lazy Boy in Orange Park Florida. I have bought furniture in other Lazy Boy locations throughout the years. I needed a new chair and was starting my research to replace all our family room furniture. I found the chair I wanted, ordered it and everything was fine until it came time for delivery. Now keep in mind that I asked everyone I spoke with to please call my cell, as our house phone is primarily for a fax machine. To make a long story short, I missed the first opportunity for delivery (they only come to Vero Beach every other Saturday) because who ever made the phone calls didn't read the paper work and didn't call my cell phone. So, I schedule for the next delivery date, 2 weeks later. However, they didn't call the right number either, so I did not have the opportunity to have someone available to meet them. I tried to re-schedule, but since they won't work with me (even after waiting 6 weeks to have 1 chair made and the 4 weeks to get it delivered) I had to schedule it for 4 more weeks outs. I got so frustrated I said I would come to the store and pick it up. I asked them to waive the $80 delivery charge since they would not be delivering and I would need to get a truck and take 2 hours to drive to Jensen Beach and back. But they said it cost them $40 to get it from Sunrise to their store and there was nothing they could do to help me. We own a window treatment business in Vero Beach. When my clients ask where to go for furniture and when I am shopping for our next furniture, I will tell them I have had good luck with Lazy Boy quality, but don't go to the Jensen Beach location. They'll take your order, but they...
Read moreSale Pricing Funny-Business and False Advertising
Prior to the Labor Day sale, the La-Z-Boy website showed approximately $3200 (plus $600 for the air mattress) for their Mackenzie sleeper sofa in leather. After the start of the sale, the same price was shown, but with the word “Sale” near the top of the webpage. I messaged the Jensen Beach location and received a voice mail that only said to return their call. I called and asked about the pricing. The salesman gave me a sale price of around $4000. When I explained what their website had shown, the salesman said he’d call me back in fifteen minutes. He called back after about 45 minutes and at first acted like he wasn’t the person I had spoken to. Then, he again gave me the roughly $4000 as the sale price. I verified with him that everything in the store was 30% off and again explained to him what their website had shown. He then said that he was not looking at their Jensen Beach location pricing, but was looking at Miami pricing. After he corrected this, the price dropped a couple hundred dollars. While on the phone with the salesman, I checked their website again and saw that the Mackenzie sofa configured the same way had no price shown anymore. It seems that between the two times I was on the phone with the salesman, the website was changed. I told the salesman about the missing price and said that their price should be roughly $2600 (with the air mattress) based on what I had seen on the website before the price disappeared. This was the end of the conversation as I had not taken any screen shot of what I had seen. These sales tactics are not unlike what happens when shopping for an automobile at a dealership. It is dishonest and, in this case, clearly false...
