Wanted to hang out with friends like I usually do at Island root. I wanted a kava my friend is allergic and wanted soda or orange juice. Because we weren’t all getting kava we got kicked out. I have a very long history with Island root as it meant a lot to me, from Bobby to Brooklyn to all the people I loved there. But after this experience I’m completely disgusted. I will be telling everyone that the newer better kava bar down the road is the one we will be going to and my followers as well.

Edit: it wasn’t about the seating if you could read, The woman kicked us out because my friend has an allergy but was still willing to buy orange juice or soda and was willing to make the tab up to $10 buying multiples. This tells me you ADMIT to it being favoritism. So noted, if bartenders have a boyfriend and a seat un-knowingly gets taken by an ACTUAL PAYING CUSTOMER we get kicked out. I'm a 1st timer to the Kava culture and my 1st time experience here at Island Root was Fantastic! Big thanks and praise to Cody the bartender. He did an amazing job introducing me to Kava by giving me the history of kava and took the time to explain the different blends/mixes of kava and kratom and did a Kava show for me. He's very knowledgeable, courteous, friendly and patient. Shows great enthusiasm for his job. This bar has very nice, mellow, Bob Marley One Love atmosphere.
