I've been passing this place for years. While it has not been the same pizza joint all these years, one Friday night when I was on the fence about where I wanted pizza, the tiki torches lining the roadway called out to me. I decided it was time to give whoever is running this place now, a shot. I ordered up and sat in the parking lot for the exact amount of time I was told would be needed to make my pizzas and went inside. They were so proud of their work. They wanted to show it off right there before I left. The polite lady said, "check it out" & opened each box. We both peered into the boxes in admiration at how freaking awesome those pizzas were, evenly & generously, loaded with all the toppings respective to the orders. But, the real test was how the sauce & dough combined with the perfectly cooked toppings basking in all that cheese. There are a couple of other joints around here that will load your pie generously, and while it is always appreciated, it couldn't save their pies from mediocrity. The here is dough is chewy, but not rubbery, which makes for a great chewing experience, while the sauce flavors the gooey cheese, meats, & vegetables exceptionally. But, because I tend to be very forgiving when a pizza is properly loaded, I wanted to make sure that I wasn't crazy in thinking we had just found our new pizza pie Friday pitstop. So, I asked my wife whom is very particular, if we had finally found a go-to pizzeria that would officially replace the one we loved, which tragically went belly up, almost a decade ago. She bluntly said, "Yes." So there you have it. There are so few reviews on this place, and I suspect that the news of a one-off bad experience here & there will always come before 30 great ones, and while it's not fair, it's the reality of the human condition. If there were 30 bad reviews I wouldn't have been so keen on ordering here, but the math told me these people deserve a shot. And I told myself, if I have a good experience, they deserve a good review, as bad news travels much faster than good news. It took me a while to sit down & write this because I wanted to give a genuine shout out to keep the staff motivated, & knowing they're appreciated; and to let others know, that they're missing out if they don't give this place a second look based on the few reviews dominated by hangry posters. If you have a good experience, consider leaving one yourself. It doesn't have to be a whole novel like mine. I just wanted to let y'all know I'm a real customer who really enjoys this pizza. As far as the other food goes, I don't know. I haven't tried it. I'm only here for the pizza, but if I ever try something, I may edit this if I like whatever it was. Otherwise, I probably won't bother because I'm in it for the pizza, and as long as that is quality, I'm not going to berate them over it. To the staff... Keep up the great work y'all, and don't let a bit of hot air take the wind out of your sails. By the way, the tiki torches are doing exactly what you had intended! They made me look up at the sign, & after I pulled into the parking lot, I read the reviews right here in Google, and placed my order on the...
Read moreWas in tonight for dinner, not really sure where to start, we were both seated at a small table for dinner which sat next to another small table with many other tables being open, so it was ok for a start until the next table that came in was sat directly next to us, with many other tables being open. So we asked to move to a high top since we knew we would be order apps and a pizza there would not be much space for us to eat. We ordered the smoorsch board appetizer, comes with fried mozzarella, wings and meatball sliders, on garlic knots, the garlic knots were not too appealing and just seemed to be smooshed the meat ball that was cut in half on each slider did not even fit to the ratio of the garlic knot, and did not have much flavor not sure if it’s sitting in hot water until served but you can definitely taste it. I will say the sauce was amazing. We ordered the bougie pizza large for $31 because we seen the table next to us with it and looked amazing, not realizing it until I got home to see images of the pie we ordered was not what we got. There was no cheese on the pie and I don’t mind paying a nice buck for a good pizza but to not get what you ordered is no fun, not knowing we were missing the main ingredient to our pizza because it’s our first time there sucked be cause it killed the whole experience and taste of the pizza, thankfully we had the side of marinara to give it some flavor. Also $12 for a glass of meomi is highway robbery most places have this priced at $7-9 a glass for a 6oz pour. After spending $70 tonight I will say I’m not too happy, I’m in high hopes these hiccups do not continue because its actually a really nice pizza place inside, but paying that high of price for food that is not coming out correctly and for sub par wine at that price I don’t think returning here will be in my...
Read moreWell, we had to try this place as it's new to our area, i was a little skeptical as it's basically one of those trendy places that promotes the "wood fired" pizza, our group is more of the traditional ny pizza type, we had 10 of us, ordered 3 pies, a chicken parmigiana, rigatoni, 6 garlic knots, 1 salad, and soft drinks all around, price tag on this trend was $200, took 35 minutes to get a lemon for a water and that was after asking 4 times for it, the 2 meals came out after an hour and 10 minutes, and the pies followed by another 5 minutes. We saw a couple other tables come in after us, order, eat, and leave before we were served. They claimed to be busy filling online orders. The food itself was extremely bland and the knots and pies were fairly under cooked, one pie was just cheese and tomato and that was the only one that you could actually eat sort of like a pizza, the others were soggy and messy, requiring a fork to eat. The server was shocked when she came by and asked if we were loving it, and we all simultaneously said no! They offered us an order of zeppoles to make up for it, zeppoles should generally be light and airy, these were thick and dense, almost more of a bread. At the end we went around the table and ranked our experience on a scale of 1-10, 2 people gave it a 2, the rest gave it a 1. We all agreed that we would never be returning, and we all regretted not going across the street to good ol reliable bella roma! Someone should shut this...
