Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Portage

So. Employees were good in Portage... BUT here's the thing about this DQ... It needs a huge change. It's not clean, the AC above was dripping everywhere. The water droplets were traveling across the ceiling and falling in several places. Looks to be very old and is directly over where they have their dips for your choc., Strawberry, etc covered ice cream. The counter where you order has several things on it that personally as far as I can tell should not be. No other dairy queen I've seen has their products hanging out on the counter where your order did by registers. Now is this an employee issue? I don't think so. It would be more of an owner issue that needs to update the building.

The chocolate ice cream needed to firm up so we waited for part of our order. That was employee related. But really the only thing I felt was something they could improve on. I don't know how the employees could stop the dripping water. They could definitely clean up the trays more often under the machines. Really a lot could be fixed if updates were done to...

I pulled into the drive thru Friday evening (2/16/24) at around 8:10PM. The open sign was lit up and operating hours are until 9PM, but after sitting in the drive thru for about a minute the lights went off on the menu sign and someone then came over the speaker saying they decided to close early…. No further explanation was given beyond that. After working a 10 hour day, I just really wanted some Dairy Queen and my 7 month pregnant fiancé was really craving a blizzard… so I was completely disappointed and frustrated, and she was very unhappy. Dairy Queen is a little bit of a drive for us, so it was upsetting that even after double-checking operating hours online that the store decided to close the moment I pull in. I understand things can happen such as being short staffed, but this seemed like workers just wanted to get out early on a Friday night. My experience with this Dairy Queen was terrible and I will NEVER go back there... we walked in the door and no one greated u, it was so cold in there my kids teeth were chattering, we had to repeat our order to the girl behind the counter 3 times, she had so much makeup on her face it was unreal her pants looked they had been painted on her and her eyes looked like she was higher then a kite ( most likely the reason I had to repeat myself ) they also were out of chesse curds and onion rings ( 2 out of the 3 appetizers they have) food was brought to the table we got about 2 to 3 bites into it and it was cold due to the fact tht it was so cold in there.... we sat in a booth and the trim was falling off the wall and the wall was soft like I could have put my hand through it... THIS EXPERIENCE WAS THE WORST ! We got icecream to go and again the same lady messed up our order up 3 times we had 6 small blizzards... I would not waste my time to...
