A&W Restaurant — Restaurant in Portage

This is my first ever bad review and I hope it is my last. I am a huge supporter of local venue's. When the server came to the door to put the tray on the window. I said oh let me put up the window for you. So I put it up a little Then she was trying to put the tray on the window and I said "I don't think this is going to work the window is curved down". Then I said oh here and helped her with the hook on the window. She had a hold of the glasses and I said "I don't think that's going to work". She then let go of both glasses..... One of the glasses tipped and poured into my brand new 2024 car with leather wall and white leather seats and onto some of the electronic brains of the car. I didn't want her to feel bad I know mistakes happen and I was not mad at her. I said "that's ok it happens" she snapped at me "that is why we usually have people take the drinks off first" (after the fact and said nothing about me taking them off before it happened. This was our first time here so we would not know that customers usually do that. The one in our city brings the drinks in to go cups and doesn't use trays so if she knew this was going to happen she should have told me).

She did go grab some napkins and bring them out to us. But if no water is used its going to be sticky and we were trying to get that off. So I went up to see if they had any wipe's or rags or something to wipe the leather and soaked electrics off as well as use thier restroom to wipe off all the root beer that fell onto me (my lap, arm, and hand were soaked). They appeared upset at me and said "we can bring something out but you need to hit the button if you need something you cant come up here". I said "ok" and continued to the restroom to clean off what she spilled on me. While I was in the restroom they went to bring me the rag and because I was not in the car she got upset and said out load "She asked me for the towel and she isn't even in her car." I went back to the car after she gave me the rag and continued to clean it up. A lady came over not sure who she was, maybe the owner. She was nice and asked if she could help. I said "no we got it". We finished wiping up and my fiancé wanted to leave the food and drinks because they were now on a picnic table and he was very upset. I said no I have to bring these back I will get the food. So I went up to do so. Then maybe the owner approached me and was again friendly and apologized. I said its ok and she said no we refunded your order (his account does not reflect that yet but I'm sure its just a lag in the system because I feel the owner was sincere about that. I said "thank you". She asked if they could remake the food. I said 'no that is fine' but you can take the drinks we will do with out those. I truly understand accidents happened. I just wished the younger girl would have handled things...

Me and My Mother came here on 04/08/25 for lunch I ordered 2 #3's one with Onion rings and a Crush orange soda and the other one with Chili cheese fries and a 12oz Polar swirl with oreo and reese's. The Girl on the intercom got it wrong twice and the third time She never even read it back to Me, When it was brought out the Chili cheese fries were not in the bag just two sandwiches and onion rings which were burnt. The Redheaded boy that brought the order had the Audacity to ask if He could see inside the bag (Like we weren't being honest) after I already paid for the meal and Tipped Him 5 Dollars, He ran back inside and brought the receipt back out and said Yeah they were never put on the order it's gonna be extra, I told Him forget it, What ever happened to the Customer is always right, Very dissatisfied and will never go to this...

We go to this location often and typically I would say it’s a good experience. Today however, I forgot to ask that my banana split only have hot fudge on it. The server kindly offered to take it back and have another one made. I asked if this was okay and she said it was. She took the original one delivered away and came back a few minutes later with the new one… then told me I owed $5.05. WHAT!? I said okay, but since I had to unknowingly pay for this one, because she did not say or imply this, I would like the one I initially paid for back and would give it to someone else. She said they already threw it away!? I should have been told I would get charged for a second one, which would have been fine, and given the option to keep the first I also already paid for. For all I know they sold it to someone else…. Or just...
