J & J's Pizza Shack — Restaurant in Portage

Wouldn't even give a star if it let me. 2nd time In a row ordering from this place and will be the last. 1st times 2 large fries were all black and manager PJ says " oh they all look that way, nobody complains". Wrong answer, try changing the oil. Tonight ordered a half sausage half cheese and 3 pieces were cheese only..called and manager says " maybe the sausage slid onto the cheese" not everybody is ignorant..I am pretty sure a pizzas JUST the sausage is NOT going to slid in a deep dish to the other side and STILL look normal on sausage side. Managers attitude was horrible and seemed inconvenienced that THEY made the pizza wrong. I don't know what the owner Toni is doing but the managers she has is losing her business left and right. From tonight's experience alone they lost 4 families that will not be ordering again and will do all we can to let others know how...

I usually don't consume a lot of pizza. I had a taste for some pizza, it was late, and they were open. The menu offers all kinds of spaghetti, pasta, and pizza. I ordered a small supreme, thin crust It was heavy when I carried it to my car. When I got home, washed my hands, took a slice, it was loaded! Well loaded with green peppers, mushrooms, which I love, but very few pieces of meat, the meat was very scarce. The flavor of the sauce wasn't bad. I am not sure what kind of cheese it was covered with, but doubt it was mozzarella. It was thick blanketed and gooey. Bottom line, for me, I pass on returning. Don't misunderstand, there was parking, they were set up for indoor dining. They had several pin ball machines, which was a good idea. I personally will not return, but they obviously have a following because a few people picked up take out while I waited on mine to...

I am so disappointed in my service from portage Jj’s because last night I ordered 3 lasagnas and one of the lasagnas was the size for a 5 year old to eat so I called back and expressed my frustrarion of driving from Gary to portage to get a kid size lasagna, so they told me to bring it back and they would remake it for me. Once I got there the lady replied in the most nastiest tone that it’s nothing wrong with it and refusef to make me another one, gave me my money back and wouldn’t allow me to even buy another one! So today I just called to talk to another manager and tell her what I experienced last night and the so called incompetent insensitive manager told me that i was wasting my time because she wasn’t going to do nothing about it either!!!! I will never ever go to this restaurant again especially when they don’t have any manners of respect for their paying...
