28th Parallel Food Carts — Restaurant in Portland

I came to Portland for a short getaway, and was craving some good street food. We were introduced to 28th Parallel Food carts and immediately noticed how private it felt from the main road with so many options. We walked from cart to cart perusing the menu before settling on a little bit of everything. Our group tried the Chopped Cheese, several shawarma dishes (my fav), crispy tacos and Kazakhstan stew. I’ve never had food from Kyrgyzstan before, but the cart here is top notch delicious stuff. We had the Lagman and the Kazan Kebab. The Lagman had perfectly chewy hand cut noodles with an amazingly fatty stewy broth, perfect for a cold night. The Kazan kebab came with potatoes and a sort of pickled onion, so good. The owner also gave us some complimentary tea while we waited.

Just what this neighborhood needed! Yes, we have amazing restaurants and carts already, but this is nex level. Lots off VEGAN options - everything fresh and so much care. I love the My Taco places fresh vegan taco plate, Chopped Cheese PDX's vegan chili fries, the plantains from the Cuban cart, fresh veggie wraps from the wonderful Shwarma cart - lots of great places to sit and enjoy a beer from Pour.
