I came to Portland for a short getaway, and was craving some good street food. We were introduced to 28th Parallel Food carts and immediately noticed how private it felt from the main road with so many options. We walked from cart to cart perusing the menu before settling on a little bit of everything. Our group tried the Chopped Cheese, several shawarma dishes (my fav), crispy tacos and Kazakhstan stew. Read moreI’ve never had food from Kyrgyzstan before, but the cart here is top notch delicious stuff. We had the Lagman and the Kazan Kebab. The Lagman had perfectly chewy hand cut noodles with an amazingly fatty stewy broth, perfect for a cold night. The Kazan kebab came with potatoes and a sort of pickled onion, so good. The owner also gave us some complimentary tea while we waited.
