Oregon Bark creates some amazing vegan chocolates -- if you love fine chocolate but miss some of the flavors of childhood favorites (like Butterfinger or Clark bar) -- do not pass up an opportunity to enjoy these creations.

As a kid, I was a big fan of Butterfinger and Clark bars -- there's no finer combination than chocolate and peanut buttery goodness. Fast forward to 2021 -- I've been vegan over 15 years and vegetarian since a teenager. There have been other similar vegan versions but they weren't nearly the quality or amazing flavor of the wee TOM BUMBLE morsels of goodness that I found on a Northern California grocery store last weekend.

Not entirely sure if words can capture how amazing this candy tastes: let's start with the chocolate. The quality of chocolate cannot be denied. It is expertly tempered, even in color, smooth and flavorful. The peanut butter flake is rich, peanut-y, buttery and just crumbles and melts in your mouth (but not so flaky that you have a mess on your hands when you bite into the bar). Exquisite and delicious - don't just get one - you'll want to get more to share with your friends!

When I tried LOU WHISTLE -- I was certain that there must be a supernatural deal that resulted in this confection. It's not entirely liquid - but not entirely chewy - just enough to slow down your greedy tongue and create a thrill of flavor reminiscent of the wondrous non-crust-part of a pecan pie -- you know what I'm talking about: the dark brown boiled over bits that stick on top of your pecan pie that you pull off and enjoy before it cools? That. Except not scalding hot to burn your fingers or tongue and even more amazing for being covered in chocolate and not having any unnecessary crust. Get a LOT of these.
