ABC Seafood Company — Restaurant in Portland

I have been buying my seafood from ABC for at least 20 years! Since 1998! Tonight I can't believe the racial disrespect I was subjected too! Myself and another lady walks in the door at the same time. The employee asked the lady what would she like and they lady replied with a question. She asked me and I said three large crabs. She reaches and gets a paper bag and inserts it in a plastic bag. She takes out three crabs and places them in the tub. I'm walking towards the counter to pay for the three crabs she pulled out for me and I had given her my approval of the selection. But the lady says something to the employee and she starts adding more crabs over the one's I was about to pay for. She then takes the three that I was about to pay for and give them to other lady. I asked her why she took the lively ones that I told you I liked and you give them to her!? She mumbled something about me getting the one's I wanted. I then told her that as long as I have been coming here, no one has ever treated me that way! She said, you want to take them out!? I started to leave the crabs, but the dinner I was making, the crabs were the main course! I was in disbelief and angry! I don't think I will never go back there again! To be that blatant, I'm like how did I miss this type of racial disrespect before! I mean the service has always been excellent!! I have been given discounts and again excellent service!! Was she a temporary employee? I will attempt to find the owner to see if these are the types of employees that they are hiring...

My go to place for all live seafood. I come at least twice a month. Employees are nice and helpful, and most importantly - honest!

We buy a king crab every December, they always have 2 varieties. Dungeness crab is always decently priced, not to mention they have them categorizes and priced by medium size, large size and ones missing claws. They also carry live lobster, crawfish + spotted prawns when in season, razor clams, Manila clams and more!

Highly recommend buying your live seafood from here. I wouldn't go anywhere else....

I found this charming little shop on a Google Search and enjoyed shopping there so much. One of the employees told me she was there when they opened 22 years ago.
