Today was the last straw for Nayar. I've frequent this place often because it's close to work and home. The owner is a very nice gentleman, and the food has been exceptional for the most part. A few hit and misses, but I've been understanding when it's busy.
The real issue here is customer service from the individual with black hair and a pony tail, I believe has glasses as well. I wasn't even greeted with a hello upon walking in. I placed an order to-go, tipped as usual. Also, felt apologetic to ask questions, because he always seems annoyed. Food was ready, and the individual states "your order is ready", doesn't ask if I want salsa or silverware and walks way. I felt unacknowledged, and even as I give a friendly goodbye and thank you, it's never reciprocated, as if it's personal. I left the establishment by saying "thank you, have a good night" and again no response or acknowledgement.
Head home, open up my food order and there's a large strand of hair laying over my tacos. In addition it looked like it was thrown into the box, not even resting in the tortillas. Cold as well. I live half a mile from there. I refuse to support a business merely on quality of food (usually). I feel unwanted as a guest. Just some food for thought for the future. Hopefully other guests receive better treatment. Hopefully the business will take this consideration for the betterment of their continuum. This customer is lost. I won't return again after my...
Read moreI'm writing this review while I angrily eat a burrito from Nayar. It's not helping. The food's decent and the salsa is good, but the service is so uniquely awful it reminds me of the punchline in a show I wouldn't find funny. After trying to change my order from pinto to black beans, the person taking my order (owner/manager I surmise) shook their head in such abject frustration that I stuck to black beans and told them it was okay. I tipped 20% because they said they were understaffed, and I get it, that's stressful. I waited maybe 30 minutes in an empty restaurant as food stacked up on the bar. And as I went to get my order, I was asked if I wanted salsa. I asked for four reds for two burritos and was met with incredulity. Okay, so I settled for two reds. The same person that got mad while taking our order said "and I'll give you two greens." I asked for more, and they angrily refused without charging me an undisclosed amount (there's unlimited salsa on the tables). ????????? Also, they have a credit card surcharge that isn't indicated anywhere. ALSO, their online menu has a burrito called "all beans matter." I should have known better. Never going back Edit: The responses from the management appear to be auto-generated, because this one popped up almost immediately. Sad to see they’re not truly concerned about...
Read moreBest Mexican food I've ever had 10/10 chicken mole burrito slaps
I have been ordering from here for I think almost two years now. The quality is ALWAYS amazing. They remain cheaper than other restaurants with AT LEAST the same good quality if not more. The guacamole is some of the best I've ever had, sooo fresh. The chicken mole is so so delicious and the mole burrito just perfectly combines all flavors and textures to just be such an enjoyable experience every time. And this is over uber eats, where it takes about 45 minutes to get to me after it's freshly made (cause I live kinda far). I cannot wait to come here in person. Their chingadazo drink too is so uniquely good! My first sip I was confused, then I downed the whole thing 🤣. Oh and the Jamaica hibiscus drink! So refreshing I've started to order two each time. I can't wait to try their alcoholic beverages in person too, as they sound delicious and knowing their quality, they will be. It's rare that I have one singular restaurant I order from SO regularly over SUCH a long period of time, but these guys do it right. I'm very specific about my food and they do NOT miss.
Edit: I LOVE YOU GUYS TOO 😭😭😭 free with my...
