I’ll start with what I liked about Street Disco. The food was stellar, absolutely one of the better places to eat in Portland. Their chefs do an amazing job without overloading a dish with components and I think each dish was executed almost if not perfectly. Food: 10/10.
Service on the other hand was a little disappointing. When we arrived our table wasn’t quite ready (no problem at all). When our table was ready no one brought us to our table but rather they gestured from across the restaurant that our table was ready as they walked away to their next task (immediately this made me question how service would be from that moment on). It took 10 minutes to receive a menu and water, another 15-20 minutes to receive a drink and food order and maybe another 15-20 mins to receive drinks. Then we waited another period before finally receiving our salad and each dish after that took quite sometime. I highly recommend ordering bread so you have something to snack on during the long wait times between dishes. Service: 4/10
The porcini salad, burger, and cheese cake were incredible and all are must in my opinion.
The last thing I’ll say is I ordered an Americano cocktail and was charged $15 which I thought was quite overpriced considering it doesn’t contain a spirit. The cocktail menu here prices well crafted and thoughtfully made cocktails at $15, so to match a drink that contains liqueur, vermouth and is half soda water was a bit much in my opinion.
Overall the food at street disco is incredible and I think their food lives up to the hyped and praise! Service just needs to match the level of attention the...

I dined at this establishment during Sunday brunch. I was so excited, having heard rave reviews, and I was loving the culinary options posted on social media.
I arrived and was asked immediately “do you have a reservation?” I get it, because I’ve been in the hospitality industry for over a decade. They needed to know, but a better greeting would’ve been “hey, how are you, great to see you, thanks for joining us, do you happen to have a reservation? If not, no worries! We’ll see what we can do for you.”
I ordered a glass of wine that was corked and asked for a replacement. The server consulted the bartender who thought giving me a taste of a completely different wine was a suitable replacement. I was interested in the wine I selected from the menu, so I asked for a glass from a different bottle. The “bartender,” who was referenced by my server as the expert but never actually came to the table, said the wine wasn’t corked. Any seasoned wine professional would know that individuals experience cork taint at different thresholds, and just because she/he/they didn’t doesn’t mean that it wasn’t corked (and for the record, this was a foul smelling wine, 100% off).
I wasn’t going to write a review until I saw a recent social media post encouraging only “able” food enthusiasts to dine here. Let me be clear, I am a MSG fan and all for denying dietary restrictions if it’s necessary for the kitchen to do their jobs well. But shame on Street Disco for using language about ableism in their marketing. What do...
Read moreBirthday dinner for the boyfriend. Almost didn't make reservations, but glad we did as the resturant was nearly full by 5.30. Started with oysters, although small were packed with flavor and the house hot sauce was well balance in vinegar and heat.
The tinned fish selection was enticing, and we chose the smoked herring. The amount of fried saltines were perfect...I do wish we had ordered bread to soak up the rest of the oil on the tin.
And speaking of regretting not getting bread the tuna with Meyer lemons was served over pureed potato and oil that just begs to be locked off the plate.
Do not skip the waygu beef cheek! This has to be the bargain of the menu. We expected a small medallion but got what was easily 6-8 oz of the most tender beef...they brought a steak knife...but you don't need it. The spinach and fresh cheese compliments nicely and for us was nostalgic of going to an old school steak house where you would get steak and a side of creamed spinach, but with a modern take.
Almost forgot about the octopus. I've never had more tender octopus in my life. You can cut it with a fork. The boyfriend loved the chickpeas, I found them a little too acidic for my taste but thats my taste buds.
For dessert we ordered the Basque cheesecake, creamy, light while still rich. We also go a bonus birthday dessert of ricotta doughnuts that we took home and enjoyed as a late night snack.
Great atmosphere, causal and upscale....
