EDIT: Well, they barred me from the store on extremely short notice because I was exhibiting disruptive behavior, the details of which they wouldn't explain.
And said me being late to games was causing problems. This was news to me. I always at minimum let people know if I was going to be late, and a chunk of the time my reason for lateness was because I had work earlier that day and had to get to the store via public transit or rideshare.
That last bit really rubs me wrong because before the last game I was at the store owner said he'd keep me posted as to whether last Friday's Star Trek game was happening...And he didn't keep me posted. I only found out from a different person on their Discord server at the umpteenth hour.
Not angry, just sad and confused. Because while it lasted for me here I was having fun.
I sincerely wish BGPDX all the best in the future. I just lament we apparently won't be able to enjoy it together.
I've been frequenting BGPDX sporadically for a few months now and have had nothing but good times and no bad times!
The closest thing I have to a complaint is I hope they spruce up the gaming room in the back a bit more at some point. There's some hints of decor but it looks a bit unfinished.
At any rate, the staff have ensured an enjoyable experience every time I have dropped in, regardless of the occasion.
Good beers, very good...

Now you can do so without entering the dreaded (translators note: less transit accessible to us east siders) trendy inner city neighbourhoods! While the retail selection leaves a bit to be desired, I’m sure supply will even out as they get more established and find their niche! In the meanwhile, their rental library is more than big enough to have you coming back weekend after weekend. The games in the library are FREE to play in the shop, or you can take them home to try for just a few bucks! The location is a perfect stopover to rest your legs while exploring the Hollywood neighbourhood. It is surrounded by popular restaurants, the famous Hollywood theatre, and the Hollywood transit hub which is getting an upgrade in the near future. Steve is clearly passionate about not only the store, but also the community. When I asked about games they did not carry, he eagerly pointed me to another store in the area. Support a new shop, and let’s get gaming again post Covid! (And if cardboard isn’t your thing, remember I mentioned...
Read moreI stopped in for the first time with a friend to pick up RCCC tickets and grab a coffee. The barista was so nice and made the most delicious coffee with cinnamon that I've ever had in my life, as well as an amazing mint matcha! They also have a nice selection of tabletop games to purchase and a library if you want to try out games while you're there. The genderless bathrooms were really nice as well and have fun symbols on them. There are several tables throughout to chill and play games at. There are also some really cool laser cut wooden and acrylic card cases and crafted dice boxes, as well as miniatures and handmade dice. Will definitely be back again! The service...
