I’m of the mindset that when employees are out of the business they are still a representation of the values and ethics that said business holds. Especially when the staff is going out together to other establishments in groups . Normally I wouldn’t take to Google to talk about something like this, but tonight was disgusting, and I truly hope this business doesn’t align with the behavior and actions of their employees tonight at Badlands Night Club. Tonight a group of people came in and they said they were all employees including managers of Brix Tavern in Tualatin. Just like any other establishment and public space- Badlands offers a space for everyone and is an lgbtq dance club that showcases music, dancing, pool,. And drag. Multiple rooms- so you’re able to choose where you’re going to sit depending on what you wanna do or see. Well tonight your group decided they wanted to sit in the drag area and watch the show “Fresh Paint.” Which features drag artists.. during the show your employees laughed the whole time, talked in the middle of performances, tried to rip a drag queens wig off- then pay her to apologize. They also threw ice at the Badlands staff… it wasn’t just one person or one isolated event- it was the whole group the entire show. It was so noticeable and distracting that two times different performers had to ask them to stop and tell them that they could go to another area. The patience shown by these performers with your employees is exactly the way people should conduct themselves professionally. One specific thing that rubbed everyone the wrong way was when a performer was talking about Roe vs Wade and women’s rights- and your employees just laughed and didn’t care that all the focus was on them. It was really sad to see especially considering the room and what the topic was discussing. You know we live in a world where people have to be concerned about the spaces they go in- and now here in this space we have to worry about the people coming in and disrupting the peace. I get being drunk and making mistakes, but all of you seemed somewhat sober and it was a group collective of disrespect. It was so bad that your “manager” lady tried to apologize for the whole group and pay off the queens because of what happened. I’m a performer and had it been me and one of them tried to pull my wig/hair I would have attempted to file charges. You have no right to touch people (legally) anyways deplorable behavior…. Like I said I truly hope Brix tavern doesn’t align with the behavior of your employees and managers. Also this review will peonelt just be the one of many. The drag community in Portland runs deep and we make sure to establish who’s serving us and inclusivity for all of the communities- not just the straight ones.. I’d truly reach out to Rio and apologize before the queens start going to social media and exposing the people you hire.....
Read moreOverall, the ffod was very good. The burger I had (The Whiskey) was delicious. I had the Beyond Burger patty. It was a bit small for $17. The bun dwarfed the patty. Also, tater tots will get you significantly less potato than fries. My friends got fries and received 3/4 of a plate of fries. I got a little bowl of tots. The fries people got ketchup in a ramekin on their plate, I had to ask for ketchup. These aren't deal-breaker by any means but if you want a fried potato side dish with your burger, I recommend that you order fries. My wife seamed quite pleased with her side salad, it looked sizeable. Our server, while quite nice, was not too skilled. Empty glasses and cans were on our table for so long I started stashing them on a nearby side table so we would have room on our table (and we only had 1 or 2 drinks each). She also took far to long to ask if anyone wanted a second beverage and some drinks got put on the wrong tabs. All of this would be understandable if the place was busy, but it was mostly empty when our group was there at 5. Lastly, whoever selected the hanging lights should have considered hanging hem high enough to not obscure the TVs. I should have been able to see 3 TVs from where I was sitting, but the giant hanging light fixtures almost completely blocked 2 of them. I wasn't there to watch sports, but they have posters all down the hallway to the bathroom about how this place is the place to be for sports. I might not seek this place out, but I would not be averse...
Read moreWe ate here for a lunch, last week on Thursday the place was NOT busy maybe we just missed the rush. The waitress Mashavu was MID. Two people in our party have severe food allergies. We took about 5 minutes to review the menu and order our drinks. Our server seemed to be annoyed with us from the jump. One of the ladies in my party explained to our server she is allergic to dairy among a couple of other common allergies. So she ended up ordering a salad. Guess what despite warning the server of her dairy allergy. The salad was served to her with blue cheese. Ummm someone is not listening. Then she was like so you want me to take it back. Yes of course PLEASE take it back unless you expect her to pick off the blue cheese, which will cause a allergic reaction.
BEFORE WE PLACED THE FOOD ORDER: She asked a couple of question like: Are the wings coated? Yea I think they have a bit of coating on them. But she didn’t offer to ask the cook to prepare them naked. Do the fries have a coating on them? Yea I think there is a bit of a crunch to them, so maybe. But she didn’t offer to ask the cook to make sure.
We’ve dined here before, not sure if we will go back, the food was good, my drink was WEAK. If we do go back we won’t be ordering in alcoholic beverages. We also have to make sure we are NOT seated in her section, her attitude is not cool. Like I said our server Mashavu was MID she did the bare minimum, no smile, no happiness, just a body serving...
