Oh my. My wife and I never thought buying a mattress could be so . . . um, nice. Our "walking into a mattress store" memories got a complete override. No marketing flam-flam. No smoke and mirrors to presuppose a wanna-be lifestyle. Portland's Naturepedic home-team Taylor and Bryce clicked in the best of ways and in the most important way: substance. It was refreshing. Taylor and Bryce seem to genuinely love what they do and walk the talk with sobering industry knowledge, competitor-product experience, and the sort of enthusiasm that's both earnest and candid. They tag-teamed through all of our questions as if we were chilling over tacos. After several rounds of our hemming and hawing, we not only got to know the integrity of Naturepedic products; we also explored (and zeroed in on) the right bed. We now can't wait for bed times and random siestas. Our hard-earned dollars --- thanks to a combination of high-quality natural fibers, purposeful material attributes, proven mattress design and engineering, coil-spring density, robust gauge of steel, skillcraft of the Amish makers, factory location, non-GMO organics, etc. --- went to a mattress for the ages: the ol' Arcadia. Calling the general Naturepedic number, I was fortunate to be connected to Brice in its Portland, Oregon store. Seldom have I encountered a store worker so informative and helpful. He took the time to explain the function and order of each layer and why organic materials mattered. I didn't need to call the final two stores on my list after Brice, a top-notch employee, took the time to help me select the most suitable model of a high-quality mattress.
