My fellow Food Hounds... welcome to Portland, Oregon (pronounced Or-eh-gun NOT Or-eh-gone) where quality food is standard and burger shops are found on almost every corner. This being said, I had the opportunity to visit one of the coolest burger joints in the area... Burgerville! For those who have never visited the area prior; Burgerville is an institution in Oregon with well over twenty locations - quite impressive. This location happens to be one of the flagship restaurants for the company and focuses heavily on the community by offering live local acts a spot to play on Thursday's and Friday's; as well as organizing fund raising events and supporting local farmers. If this wasn't inspiring enough, all the beef used in their burgers are fresh, never frozen and come from grass-fed cows - no additives - hormone free. Knowing all this before eating got me extremely excited to get down to business and start stuffing my face!
First things first... the menu is massive and offers a variety of options including a vegetarian menu, chicken, turkey, fish and fresh salads - so you don't need to be a "hamburger" person in order to enjoy a good meal! Out of pure curiosity, I started with the Spicy Anasazi Bean Burger which blew my mind. A refreshing offering for the vegetarian looking for something fantastic; the spicy, soft and uber-delicious bean patty is nestled between a fresh sesame seed bun, garnished with tomato, lettuce and a chipotle mayo - then tucked in with Tillamook pepper jack cheese... WIN. On to the classic Fish & Chips; Yumm-O! Slightly fried to a golden crisp, the wild Alaskan halibut was non-fishy, fresh, crunchy and awesome. We were treated to the Rosemary Fries (which are seasonal - so get them while you can); a rosemary, garlic and red pepper blend that creates a truly unique flavor that will explode in your mouth! Next up, we devoured three different versions of their kick-a$$ burgers... the Pepper Bacon Cheeseburger was killer - a 1/4 pound of beef covered in Niman Ranch pepper bacon and was dripping with tasty Tillamook cheddar cheese. The Original Cheeseburger (Mmm... CHEESE) is quite simply a cheeseburger interupted; 'nuff said. I gorged myself with the Half-Pound Colossal Cheeseburger that offered TWO 1/4 pound patties drowning in American cheese and kicked up a notch with the addition of their Burgerville spread (available in jars for purchase - MUST have for the condiment lover).
Fantastic and fulfilling meal... and then came the Smoothies and Milkshakes! The Triple Berry Blast was a sweet and sassy blend of fresh berries including blueberry, raspberry and marionberry (the most used berry in Oregon); guys - be man enough to sport this drink... trust me. If you need a tasty quick pick-me-up, try the Mocha Perk which was REALLY good - cold-brewed coffee dominates in all the right ways as Ghirardelli chocolate offers a delightful zing of chocolatey love! Lastly, the special of the month was the Timber Joey. Named after the Portland Timber's Lumberjack mascot... this thick milkshake was off the hook combining real ice cream, mint and my personal vice - Oreo cookies - ridiculously refreshing! Everything about Burgerville was an A+ from the friendly and knowledgeable staff right down to the BOSS dipping sauces that accented each bite had by yours truly. If you are looking for a quality burger while in the area, I urge you to...
Read moreBurgerville is the only fast food we eat with our kids—and for good reason.
From the start, we’ve been drawn to their mission of sourcing fresh, local ingredients and supporting Northwest farmers and communities. It’s fast food you can feel good about, and it truly sets them apart.
The food is consistently delicious—classic burgers, crispy fries, and perfectly blended shakes—but what really makes Burgerville stand out is the thoughtful approach to ingredients. As a family with dietary restrictions, we especially appreciate the clear allergy-friendly options and accommodations. It makes the experience stress-free and inclusive for everyone in our crew.
The staff is always friendly, patient, and helpful—whether we’re navigating allergen questions or excitedly ordering the latest seasonal special. Speaking of which, we love their seasonal items! From berry shakes in summer to cozy autumn-inspired bites, there’s always something new and crave-worthy on the menu.
Burgerville isn’t just a meal—it’s a tradition for our family. A fast food stop that actually aligns with our values and...
Read moreWell usually I love burgerville, but at this particular location (which I had never been to) things weren't as awesome as Burgerville usually is. First of all there was way, way Too much sauce on our cheeseburgers, now keep in mind that we love the sauce, we really do! But this sauce was out of control!!!lol I mean it was swimming in sauce. OK, so we're dealing with that & then I notice that my milkshake cup has a crack in it & is leaking all over😱So I go up & show them the problem & at first their solution is to set my cup into another cup- and I'm like NO! That's not gonna cut it because my first cup will still be leaking & it will go in between the two cups. So after I insisted on them putting it into an entirely new cup- then I could salvage what was left of our lunch. But on the bright side it's really big and nice inside. With lots of cool places to sit- like up on bar stools or there is little 2 seaters that are really cute. So idk, maybe I just had some bad luck that day?? You guys try it, & see what...
