From a delivery person's perspective: the service was quick, service was tolerable at best and the pizza smelled good. HOWEVER, as soon as the cashier realized that I was delivering for Postmates (Order and Pay) he asked to see my phone and card and placed the order in the Square register AND Swiped the card/himself completed the transaction. So far so good, right?
Wrong. As soon as he swiped the card he walked away as I was signing. I had to ask him for a receipt and he seemed annoyed. Upon further inspection of the receipt as I was scanning it into Postmates, I realized he added a $4.00 tip to the order (thus why he didn't swing the iPad around for me to swipe/sign like all other square merchants do). This is very shady, as I, the driver ,am responsible for the charges incurred (exactly why Postmates requires us to scan the receipts in). I wouldn't have an issue with this if this was predisclosed to the customer through the Postmates app (or even on the shops own webpage), however it's not (I checked on the customer app while I was waiting for food). Not only does this put my future work with Postmates on the line (aka. unauthorized charges), it at the very minimum discourages the customer from tipping me for my work as their price is a decent price higher than they expected.
Not cool and not professional. All it takes is a little disclosure and it would be fine, I pickup orders from places that add a gratuity for just Postmates/DD orders all day long and they stay just as busy with the added cost. All it takes is ainimal amount of...
Read moreWe had Pyro's Margherita Pizza and a made from scratch soda for less than $10.00 at 1:00AM. This is late night cart dining at it's finest.
The weather was chilly, but the pizza was hot and the service was friendly. Our order only took 6 minutes to complete. Everything about our meal was made from scratch, from the dough that takes about 18-hours to rise and to the fresh mozzarella. The pizza alone is $8.00. If you are thinking about a $5.00 pizza from Pizza Hut, just cough up $3.00 more and head to Pyro Pizza. I'm not a pizza connoisseur, so I can't elaborate too much on how the dough had just the right amount of salt, how it had good crust action or that the sauce was the perfect acidity and not too sweet. I'll just say that it is really worth it.
P.S. I waited for my pizza to cool off because I didn't want the cheese to slide off, but who's kidding who. With the near freezing temperatures, I don't need to wait for the...
Read moreIt's definitely decent Italian-style pizza at good prices served from a food cart. We tried three kinds (pepperoni, onion, and fennel sausage); all three were good but not outstanding. For a much better Italian-style pizza, try Nostrona. I feel bad making that comparison, since Nostrona is more than double the price and is a sit-down restaurant instead of a cart, but if I get a craving for this type of pizza I'd rather shell out the money and get a really good one. If I want cheap pizza, I'd prefer a cheap New York-style to Pyro. So in the end it's not bad but not the pizza I would choose.
The sodas were neat though. The cucumber-lemon soda was strange but...
