Unfortuanately after trying to make things write I feel obligated to write a review, I ordered lunch for all my team mates today at 3:00 PM, lunch was picked up everyone enjoyed their meal, except the employee who ate the hummus, he then asks me and another employee to try it, it was the most awful thing We have ever eaten, due to being a busy day at work We were unable to call and ask them what happened, 3 hours later we close so I decided to stop by with the hummus to see what went wrong, I explain the situation to the owner who proceeds to give everyone free hummus and says if anyone says it is bad he will give me 1,000 dollars, I never wanted it to get to that level, all I wanted was fresh hummus or something else in exchange, he proceeds to take $6 out of his register and try to give it to me and tell me he can no longer service me, that he has the best hummus in portland.. Unfortunately if it is or is not true I can not say, but what we had almost made us vomit.. Safe to say We will no longer be going there and I feel sorry for anyone else who is ever treated this way by the owner of this establishment..
I have been around Middle Easterns and Lebanese people enough to know what good food is, and this place definitely does not deserve to be where it is with someone who...
Read moreIn Portland for 3 weeks. From Birmingham,Al. Live in Idaho..in Birmingham their is a huge Greek food scene. Eaten tons of good Greek food. In Idaho their is no good Greek food. So I was dying for something good. And boy did this place not disappoint. As a matter of fact, this is some of the best Greek food I've ever eaten. Unbelieveable stuff. They make these twice baked potato crisps that are just off the chain..sliced thicker than potato chips from Red potatoes, these things are sprinkled with Greek seasoning and salt and are perfectly crisp on the outside while soft and warm and light on the inside. Just awesome. Had the gyro. The Taziki sauce was the bomb. You can tell its homeade. The pita was perfecyly toasty on the outside yet still somehow pillowy soft. And the Schwarma was divine. And do not skip the homeade hot sauce. Holy hell. The owner makes it. And it's more a puree/hot sauce salsa. Just one of the best things I've ever tasted. Anyways, it's fire. And the people who run it are salt of the earth nice. Try it. You will love it. It's special food. Can't wait to try the falafel...
Read moreGreat COVID option. Call to order, and pick up at their window a few minutes later. This is the best gyro place I've been. Its amazingly good, great gyro size, affordable, and high quality. TIP: They automatically add hot sauce to their gyros, and that's a no from me. I always forget to omit it unless the sales person is 10 steps ahead of me and asks if I want it. Bless these people!
Gyros are SO complex. Its so hard to find one with the perfectly seasoned and flavored sauce, the right king of meat texture and flavor, the right kind of pita bread etc etc... Cedo's adds arugula and tomato to their gyro, along w the hot sauce, but thankfully no fries. I hold the salad and have them put the sauce on the side if I'm taking it home for later and it reheats amazingly. It made it all the way home to Seattle and was still delish.
I haven't tried their falafel yet but I'm sure they're amazing as well.
The only change I would do to the gyro is to add more lemon zest, juice to the tzatziki. When I make it at home I love a little zing in my tzatziki, it adds a lot of flavor with...
