Update: The response from the owner wasn't helpful at all. They stated they weren't trying to hide the extra dollar they charged for every drink and that I actually saved $3 for what I would've spent in store which isn't actually true.
The drinks in store would've been $15 The total for my drinks alone was $18.00 on Seamless. So even with their coupon I didn't save more.
The company had addressed that the service and delivery fee is out of their control (which I understand) I didn't have a concern with that.
I had an issue with the cost of the drinks through their online ordering. Whether the company loses money on partnering with those companies doesn't pertain to what I wrote.
Read on to read how the company responded.
My post: I usually drive in from Hillsboro to come to Ding Tea but I was at work so I ordered delivery.
My normal drink is a large oolong milk tea with light ice and 30% sugar, no toppings. I normally pay $4.75 which I don't mind clearly (since I drive almost a half an hour to come here).
Anyways, I ordered delivery for three drinks from Seamless which I guess is partnered with GrubHub now. I was at work so I didn't mind paying the service fees, tipping the driver.
Upon finishing the transaction, I thought one of the drinks was pretty pricey, almost $7 for a large matcha milk tea with one topping (regular boba).
I thought this was pretty mind blowing but that drink was for someone else so I didn't think anything of it until later that evening. I realized that my drink was a dollar more than what I normally pay. It was $5.75!! Not only my drink but ALL of the drinks were $1.00 MORE!! A total of a $3 extra charge from Ding Tea.
The service fee was around $1.50 and ontop of the delivery fee $4.00? (Which I knew I was paying for delivery).
Granted, I did use the coupon for Ding Tea spend $15 get $6 off (not including taxes or service fees). But with the company charging me $3.00 extra on just the drinks alone on the whole transaction did I really save money for spending that $15?
I reached out to Seamless and they educated me that it's the restaurants that determine the price. Ding Tea raises a whole dollar on their prices on deliveries.
I've ordered pick up before and wasn't charged any type of fee.
My advice would, one not order Ding Tea from Seamless. There are other companies who don't upcharge for delivery.
Here I was thinking I was saving money. But really they upcharge and hope no one catches on. Won't be driving 30 minutes to pick up...

I first tried Ding's at Beaverton Boba Walk (for all you local boba lovers, this event is also a must-go!). I had their traditional milk tea with grass jelly and boba, it tasted like graham crackers (in the best possible way! ๐๐) and delicious tea. The jelly was silky and herbal, and the boba were chewy, not too hard or soft, and sweet.
After an amazing first taste, I had to go back for the full experience. They have golden boba here which I had never even heard of, will be coming back to try those in the future. The staff were sweet, helpful, and mellow, and the shop environment is beautiful and relaxing with hand painted murals, plants, and high ceilings. I also love that they open earlier than other boba shops on the weekend. What's...
ย ย ย Read moreThe Feng Shui here in on point: crisp lines, open spaces, ambient natural light; clean, organized, elegant. The tea (and service!) is pretty good, too! A slightly overwhelming selection of fresh, flavored and milk teas, juices, tea, lattes, and coffee, all of which can be modified by level of sweetness, and the addition of boba, tapiocas and other jellies, seeds, and foams (cheese foam?! wut?!) based on your preference. We walked out with a matcha milk tea for myself, and a Thai Tea with boba for my wife, all for less than $10 bucks.
In the world of customizable, consumable craft concoctions, I'd frequent this place over any Starbucks, any day of the week. There's nothing about our experience here that I would Ding them for; they executed their mission to a Tea! Sounds like a five-star experience all...
