Excellent korean bbq cart located at Core food truck hub on 82nd near Powell (east side near 205).
Small menu specialized in korean fried chicken and pork belly "bowls"(see pic) in a generous and beautiful portion. Sides are awesome heukmi bap (black and white rice but looks purple), perfect pickled cubed daikon radish, a green onion salad that is similar to seaweed salad but blows away the costco premade stuff most places use, and a kimchi that is mild on heat, garlic, and ginger but still great.
My lady and I got both chicken offerings, hot honey for me, and plum garlic for her. Hot honey has some intimidating looking sliced peppers but is actually a very tolerable heat level, and outdid chicken dishes at local dine in restaurants at much higher prices. This may well be the best fried chicken of any kind ive ever eaten.
I cannot overstate how delicious this is. The menu is small because they are experts at what they make.
The price is better than any dine-in kbbq restaurant, the quality and speed is great, and the Core venue has a fully indoor dining court, and a great bar adjacent to both indoor and abundant outdoor tables for hard and soft drinks. Dessert carts, and many other cuisines around for picky parties there too!

Read moreI’ve been here twice & the food is incredible. My first visit, I ordered food to go and picked it up at the cart. I was a little surprised when the service was cold, but I chalked it up to them having an off day.
I returned last night with two others, and unfortunately we all had the same experience. The dudes working the cart act like you are inconveniencing them. No greetings, no smiles, no thank yous (even after my husband said thank you, 3 times). It’s kind of bizarre. It really seems like they hate being there?
On top of that, we accidentally spilled the plum sauce that came with the fried chicken, so I went up and explained that we spilled and asked for another. He just said “$.50”, so I gave him $.50. Never mind that between 3 people, we just spent nearly $90 including tipping 15%. Customer service goes a LONG way and simply replacing the sauce would have been the correct gesture here.
Bottom line: the food is great but I can’t spend my money at an establishment where I don’t feel appreciated. There’s so many other small businesses that treat their customers with basic respect and...
Read moreFell in love with their fried chicken at the Portland night market. Best fried chicken I've had.
Had it 2 more times and it's not the same. The pieces are too big. What was once but sized is now like 3 bites. Completely changes the experience. But they're still good and pairs well with their ranch.
The shrimp burger is decent. Definitely a work in progress. Had it twice and it needs some more flavor. Maybe a thinner patty. Taking a bite just tastes like a mouth full of shrimp.
The burger isn't good. GF and I agreed it was bland. Bun soggy.
The new location sucks though. I know the truck has mechanical issues. But the new area is a major downgrade.
I love Doyaji. When I say the fried chicken I was served at the night market was the best I've had. I absolutely mean that. I'm excited to see them keep...
